Is it really though? Sure, some want a more return to form of the first 2, but a majority are looking forward to this game even with the flaws it has.

It's not like Color Splash were it took a stream from a MUSIC channel to get people hyped for the game. Especially since the game leaked because Nintendo was being ran by a bunch of dumbasses during the death of the Wii U era.

I got to try a Subway sandwhich for the first time ever with my IRL friends this Monday.
I think It was of ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mustard.

Speaking of Paper Mario, I just finished reading this Interview of Origami King on VGC.....

.......... I’m at a loss for words.

This interview tells us nothing we didn't already know tbh. We knew some executive meddling (but not all) is what made Sticker Star and Color Splash the way they are, and the only other thing to note is that they hope fans be more open minded for this game.

Unless I'm missing something here.

Hopefully I manage to get my hands on that game as based on some impressions from other people It feels really good!

I personally love the game, it's not often I've played a fighting game where I can just sink hours into training mode having as much fun as I do just learning combo routes and new things about what my characters can do.

Origami King definitely has it's flaws but the resounding opinion from what I've seen is that it tries hard enough and while it doesn't nail down most ideas the few it does(such as that glorious aesthetic and area size) it does VERY. VERY. well.

Speaking of Illinois my grandparents just moved out of there and close to where I live..

and not even 2 days later a tornado touches down insanely close to where they used to live. I'm talking like a 5-8 minute drive to where the tornado touched down. Talk about lucky lol. If they had stayed there(and they even said they had kinda given up packing towards the end and my dad had to push em) our situation would be vastly different.

Feel bad for the people who moved in though.

Woah, if training Mode alone seems to be fun then It has to be really good.

Maybe I will save some money for It after I buy Persona 5.

I guess it’s official; despite the games’ battles still playing like an RPG, Paper Mario is never going back to being an actual RPG.

Instead, it will continue reusing the same concepts such as the consumable attack system and hand-holding money system etc. with just some differences and improvements (default, infinite-use attacks and improved stories) and people will keep saying “they have to do things different, not just the old RPG system every time!” despite the old RPG system only being done twice, Super Paper Mario still being good due to them not forcing RPG battles that feel pointless in a different genre and having a good story, other RPG games and games with exp. systems continuing just fine, and the games starting with Sticker Star aren’t really doing much “new and different” either besides different themes and the mentioned improvements.

At least there’s still funny stuff, and while the hyper focus on paper is still weird and much different from the first three games to the point you wonder if it’s an alternate universe, I really don’t mind the paper puns and the new artstyle; I like both.

But, I will keep an open mind with TOK, as it at least looks loads better than Sticker Star and still better than Color Splash based on what I’ve heard and seen about them (never played CS and got too bored to keep playing SS after the first level or two when I was 13, but maybe I’ll try it again sometime idk though GameXplain’s review certainly does it no favors (I’m sure there’s fun to be had, but seriously, Bowser doesn’t even talk?), and I don’t think I have the copy of it I had anymore due to losing it and some other games in a move...).

Sighs. This feels like the Sonic fandom all over again.

The only difference is that in Paper Mario's case the hatred that classic fans give the modern game is justified while in Sonic it was stupid because the modern games were just as good as the classic ones.

Aaaaaand that's the straw that broke the camel's back. If they're not going to be creative with creating characters because they're "no longer allowed to," then they need to rebrand this series as something else.

I don’t know if it’s Tanabe or Miyamoto, if not both, but they really need to restructure the team for these games.

Good gosh I initially didn’t even see how they weren’t able to make more unique characters based on Toads and enemies and other stuff because it was “impossible”/they aren’t allowed to. I’m sure part of the series’ downfall regarding gameplay and stuff is on them too but goodness I’m not gonna put as much blame on them anymore.

Apparently new and original characters such as Goombella and the Toad secretary girl from the Glitz Pit chapter aren’t allowed anymore, either; only stuff like Professor Toad, basic Toads in different clothes and stuff and don’t really look much different from the others. Any real original characters must be entirely new/not based on existing Mario characters and can’t be reused in future games (I guess besides minor references and cameos).

Apparently Waluigi and Daisy etc. may not be allowed outside of spinoffs and Smash Bros. either. To shed some light:

To be fair, regarding the link above, they’re not really breaking any rules, as long as their new characters don’t get reused in future games and the more-unique Toads and stuff aren’t much more unique than the basic Toads.

not only are they so obsessed with innovating and "new experiences" that they always throw stuff in the trash after the first time even if it actually works, but they literally cannot make new unique characters (unless they're some one-time gimmick partner), settings or stories anymore

i'm saving my money.

The reason I love the first 2 Paper Mario's with all my heart is that the creativity they uses with the different races made Mario's world feel like more than just a mascot characters world, it felt kinda alive in a way and it made me actually care for the Mario characters.

This just really demoralizes me as a fan.

Will try to see if I can emulate Partners In Time and Bowser's Inside Story another day too.

I don’t know. It’s just like.... to me the trailers show a perfect hybrid of both styles. Sonic Generations if you will. But nobody else is seeing that and it’s sad beck think there’s more of what they want in there then they’re willing to admit.

Off-topic, but I just wanted to tell Cutie Gwen that my new pfp is kinda a joke involving her's.

Since she is a Kamen Rider fan and I am a Power Rangers fan I thought It would be funny if I took the LEGO Rider minifigure I got this monday from a blind bag and made a recreation of It (similar to how Power Rangers is basically Super Sentai with some changes).

I thought It would be a fun little joke, although if she wants me to change the pfp is ok.

If someone gives me a good picture of Kabuto I'd do the same too ngl.

I will admit that I'm confused on why they said that they can't modify original Mario enemies, when the entire game is Mario fighting a cult of modified Mario enemies.

Tanabe sucks when it comes to PR. He ****ed up with Color Splash's, and he just ****ed up now.
