Well as an ex-competitive pokemon player, here's my opinions on some of the new move tutor moves in Sword/Shield.
- Scorching Sands sounds really nasty as a ground-type scald, but most ground types have low special attack so its not so bad. Some fire-types may like having an extra coverage option but 70 bp is pretty weak for an offensive move.
- Terrain boosted moves are yikes. As if terrain abilities weren't crazy enough already. Steel Roller seems like an okay addition but that move isn't single-handedly counterbalance terrain.
- Skitter Smack seems good in a vacuum, but it has U-turn and Leech Life to compete with so it's probably going to get very little usage.
- I really like the concept of Meteor Beam being a rock-type Solar Beam that boosts special attack while charging, but unfortunately moves like that aren't any good in competitive. Most rock types have lousy special attack to begin with to. The Galarian Fossil pokemon learning it is funny though. Dracovish is probably what made the dinosaurs go extinct.
- Now Poltergeist is a move concept I really like. There's a surprising amount of physical ghost types including one of my favorites Runergris. Dragapult doesn't learn it but that's probably for the best (still salty it doesn't at least get Shadow Claw though). This move has terrible synergy with Knock Off, a very popular move in competitive right now though, which I think makes this move interesting from a team building perspective.
- I'm a filthy VoltTurner so I'm excited at playing with Flip Turn for a little bit. It's a bit weaker then U-turn but can get a boost from the rain, and it's learned by Barraskewa. WishPassing with Baton Pass Vaporeon has been illegal ever since Smogon banned Baton Pass, so it's neat to have that option again, even if Vaporeon's attack is pathetic. Aside from that it doesn't look like anything notable learns it, unless you want to run mixed Keldeo.
....How the heck does Milotic learn Triple Axel when it doesn't have legs? I'm putting this in the Ice Punch Whooper category.
One more random note: If you teach Dual Wingbeat to a Technician Scyther, it's effectively and 120 bp move. Factor in STAB and it's 180. Scyther has bad typing and it's speed stat isn't high enough to really abuse in OU but I might decide to have fun with that in some lower tiers.
