Looking back, does anyone regret buying a game system they thought would be good and it flopped? Becsuee that’s how I felt with Wii U.

So far, I don't regret a purchase I made on the Switch, in fact, I wouldn't say any of the games I bought were bad.

I was, however, hesitant on Sword and Shield, and that was on the basis that GameFreak was gonna burn the fanbase and make a new and improved SwSh in 2020 (which they didn't), hence why I didn't buy it until after they January direct.

I will say though, a lot of the games on the Switch have ass postgames. BotW, SwSh, and Odyssey all have replayability value, but it's just more of the same, of what was already there, with virtually nothing new added.

Still waiting for that Odyssey DLC btw.

I don't regret having either the Switch or PS4. Biggest hurdle is picking and choosing which multiplat games do I get on which of the systems.

I was able to build a decent game collection over the years by saving most of my stuff from Gamecube onward. Never got a Wii-U tho. If there's an old system I plan on getting physical copies of again, it's PS2.

PS2 is a KING system.

I got a Switch because...Nintendo
Speaking of Total Drama, the original Teletoon cut is so much better than the CN version. My gosh. It's like 4kids censoring got all up in the show's crib.
Cartoon Network accidentally having that Lidnsey "censored cursing" moment in the show, that alone made it all worth it
I can't believe I'm seeing Shredder slander in the thread today. That's wild.
Shredder finally getting cancelled

I just watched the first episodes of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Neon Genesis Evangelion, since I wanted to try mecha anime and I know those are two famous examples. (the only other one that I'm aware of is Gundam, but Canadian Netflix doesn't have much in the way of options and I don't know what the best starting point is)

They are two very different series, to say the least.

TTGL reminds me of My Hero Academia, or at least the dynamic between Deku and All-Might, while NGE feels more like a Godzilla movie (I think - I haven't actually seen any Godzilla movies) but with an emphasis on drama over giant monster attacks. Simon and Shinji seem kind of similar in terms of personality (young kids who lack self-confidence), but while Simon (no idea why his name's pronounced See-Moan instead of Simon) fights through his uncertainty to make the impossible possible, use a drill to pierce the heavens, etc., Shinji immediately gives up and then starts getting all depressed that nobody wants him, even though they did want him and he refused to help or even try. Kamina encourages Simon to find the strength to keep going, while everyone in Evangelion seems to be forcing Shinji into doing things that he doesn't want to do.

Even the first activation scene of the mech is very different, with TTGL having Simon encouraged to activate it with a rousing speech, while NGE has people saying that Shinji's likely going to die if he tries to activate it, but they have no choice.

I'm not sure which is an example of a traditional mecha series, but I think I'll go with TTGL before trying to continue with NGE. Gurren Lagann seems like it will be cheesy but uplifting, whereas I feel like Evangelion is going to range from gloomy to outright depressing.

I have no idea what to expect, aside from knowing that this happens at some point:

And that Shinji's father is one of the worst examples of a father in anime, though I don't know why.

Well

Just saying

As overblown as it was, never forget that when the series was over, the creator's literal door to his house was plastered in hundreds of death threats from die hard fans of the series.

NGE is a very wack show. While it's gotten praise over the years, I've never understood the hype. While the characters ARE very complex and interesting (mostly), the deuteragonist in Rei is painfully boring and leaves much to be desired. Along with that, the story is very convoluted and has plenty of story points that make no sense.

I think the show deconstructs Shinji's predicament well, but everything else about the storytelling aspect is painfully bad.

I understand this is an unpopular opinion because many like NGE, but oh well :p

Eh, I didn't find it that complex personally.

Do you need to suspend your disbelief for some of it? Sure, but it's not that confusing, I got most of it back when it aired on Adult Swim.

What part did you mainly not understand if you can recall at all? It's been years since I saw it, like, the last time it aired on Adult Swim years, but I remember it decently enough.

I thoroughly enjoyed Neon Genesis Evangelion/End of Evangelion personally. While I do agree that it's pretty wack, that's kind of the draw of it in the first place I feel like. NGE by itself is pretty confusing on the first watch through, but I think End of Evangelion does a good job in making it make more sense.

Also, NGE has a pretty dope soundtrack, so that's a plus.

So, I got a question.

I have one account on my switch. I create another so I can replay Pokemon. Do I need to do anything in particular to transfer all my stuff from that new save onto Home?

I’m worried that we won’t be getting P3FES on Steam. If they were adding it, why wouldn’t they release it at the same time as P4G? Although maybe they didn’t want to wait to finish both. But still, I’m worried that it won’t be coming. I can always just get P4G if that’s the case, but I still would want P3 more.

Maybe they are actually doing that P3 remake the P5 fandom is begging them for and they don't see the point in rereleasing the original game?

I wouldn't be against that, the original P3 felt kinda weird to play tbh.

That would be amazing. Thank you for turning my worry into hope. I’d personally love to see a remake with even more new features. And the remix potential would be limitless.
Also, a Switch port for a Wind Waker would render my old Wii U useless-
except i’m willing to let that happen if we can get another molgera remix

I'm just going to wait a bit before I actually buy persona 4.

I still haven't finished Mario and Luigi Dream team, Shenmue 3, Mario Rabbids and Sakura wars 6, I can't go adding more to that small backlog.

....

Cartoon Network doesn't own Total Drama.

Acquired programing is a program the company simply owns the broadcasting rights. They don't put up money in it's creation and they don't own the intellectual property. If both of those items don't apply at the same time, it's not acquired programming.
That is literally the point I was making

Anyway, I did manage it get a Lotad and an Oranguru from the GTS by trading a Seedot and Oranguru from the GTS.

The Lotad owner was quick as hell on the process, it got traded in like 5 seconds, so he hopped on it before all the requests are swamped with Poipole lol.
