You have to play Journey imo if you haven't already. It's prob best on PS4 but it also just came out on Steam. Should be able to beat it in one session if you block out 4-5 hours.

Marvel has been having young Peter be a Spider-Man with Miles a good amount of times lately, so it's likely they could bring him in early (not will the will, but the choice is still there)

I feel like a lot of my recommendations would depend on what you've played, what systems you have (or how good your PC is), or what kinds of games you're looking for.

However, one game that I'll always recommend is Psychonauts. It's like a mix of Super Mario 64, a summer camp, and the movie Inception.

If you haven't played Okami, I'd strongly recommend it. It's on sale on the Switch for $10, I think, and it's generally considered the closest thing to a Zelda game on non-Nintendo consoles, both in terms of gameplay and quality.

For 2D platformers, I tend to like Metroidvanias (platformers that involve a lot of exploring), so I'd recommend Ori and the Blind Forest, the Guacamelee games, and Bloodstained; Ritual of the Night as far as Switch games go.

If you haven't tried the demo for Dragon Quest XI, I'd suggest giving that a shot. It covers the first 8-10 hours of the game, so even if you don't get the game, you'll still get a lot of time out of it for free.

Also, use this as an opportunity to look into older franchises that you might not be familiar with. If you haven't played Street Fighter or Mega Man, there are plenty of collections on the Switch that are on sale at the moment. If you haven't played a Fatal Fury or King of Fighters game, the Arcade Archives series has released plenty of them on the Switch. (I'd recommend King of Fighters '98, Real Bout Fatal Fury, and Garou: Mark of the Wolves)

Maybe use Smash Bros. as a guideline - if you haven't played a game from a franchise on the roster yet, look into that. (though there might not always be an option, at least on the Switch - there aren't any Metal Gear or Persona games on the Switch, for example)

I second the "look at Smash Bros" notion. If it wasn't for Smash, I would be skipping out on some of my favorite games of all time.

I've both PS4 and Switch so I'll recommend a variety of 10.
1. Detroit Become Human (PS4)
2. Hitman 1 and/or 2 (PS4)

These two are probably the biggest surprises of the generation to me at least.

3. Wreckfest (PS4) , if you want a good racing game.
4. Celeste (PS4 and Switch) - just play it and it'll resonate with you.
5. Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) - It's spectacular in all fronts.
6. The Outer Worlds (PS4) - for people who want to a Fallout style game but don't like the series.
7. Octopath Traveller (Switch) - If you want an old school JRPG.
8. Child of Light (PS4 and Switch) - Remember when Ubisoft made a surprisingly good JRPG.
9. Gravity Rush 1 and 2 (PS4) - I'm going to not go on a rant but **** PlayStation for not marketing this more. Amazing traversal mechanics, art direction, character design, music etc. I would try this game.

And 10. Deadly Premonition (Switch) - If you want a so bad, it's good sort of game with some weirdness, then this could fit the bill.

That was long but I gave some variety for a recommendation list. Let me know what you think.

Ahem, I just Topple Locked a Unique Monster to death, and, uh, can I say I feel some pity toward it? Like lord, Reyn with a gem to extent topple & daze + Dunban + Melia Topple is a monster of a team. As long the enemy doesn't have spike.

i need y'all's help with something.

so i've been looking to expand my gaming backlog and just play tons of new games and really expand my horizons. plus, i'm probably gonna get bored sooner or later while the world is still bricks, so

basically

recommend games to me. that is all.

Hollow Knight.

A super well crafted metroidvania. The gameplay is smooth, the progression is really satisfying, the soundtrack is amazing and the amount of content/secrets/extra challenges in the game is kind of insane. Hands down one of the best game i've played. Plus the Switch version is only 15 bucks. Definitely worth it imo.

I just had a rather awkward experience while out shopping today.

I never mentioned this before but most of my family members actually look younger than they really are, except for me. It always been really weird, so I was waiting for some people in front of me to move and I could hear someone telling my mother "tell that husband of yours to get moving already!" If you're going to play that game, keep in mind that it's even more broken/glitchy than Sonic '06. It's literally impossible to lose, because the game isn't programmed for what would happen if you lose a race, and that's after you download a patch to add opponent AI to the game. (opposing drivers stop right before the finish line)

Also, they didn't put a limit on the maximum speed that you could go when driving in reverse, so the end result is this:

Anyways, I was cleaning downstairs and I found some old Gamecube games of mine: Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin and Sonic Adventure 2 from my youth, plus a Gamecube Controller. Never thought I'd be seeing those again. Maybe I will use the Gamecube controller for my Nintendo Switch.

Also, today I unlocked Riki & Dunban Extra skill tree, meaning every member of my party have access to the fourth skill tree at any time, with Reyn notably having 3 of his skill tree fully done
