Apparently, the film was rushed and a good amount of the scenes were unfinished

so in a move pretty much unheard of, on the day of release, Universal went and notified theaters that they'd be giving them an updated version with "improved visual effects" later that weekend

so pretty much, it was a day one patch for a movie

Technology is amazing. The next time a batch of food is poisoned, can we call the recall a patch too?

I read an article trying to convince readers to watch it because it's the best trainwreck ever to hit theaters, and they said they spotted at least four instances where they forgot or screwed up the fur effects, including an angle where one of the actresses just had her normal human hand, wedding ring and all.

I kind of hope someone preserves the un-patched version of the film for history's sake.
