Grapploct would have been my favorite if it wasn't for it being pure Fighting. Too many monotypes this gen.

I wish people who wanted a Gen 8 Pokemon with a rhythm-based moveset would focus on it over Rillaboom. At least its instrument is its chest and therefore doesn't have to worry about not being portable.

He probably used the Time Travelling Goal Posts from Sonic CD to make the world remember him as a character from cult classic movies.

Eggman gets around actually. It's been discovered not too long ago that Eggman's designs were influenced by other characters from Japanese media.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum from Disney's Alice in Wonderland were also found to be a heavy influence on his outfit design.

For his face and moustache the character from Laputa being one such example, for an actual comparison here he is side by side with Eggman's earliest concept design. Note the swirls on the lens is present on both designs with the moustaches being the exact same shape.

Interestingly enough Sonic 3's plot and locales were inspired by Laputa.

So that means Sonic takes inspiration from Star Wars (Death Egg), Dragon Ball (Special Stages based on Kaio's Planet, Super Sonic) and now Studio Ghibli.

Sneasel would be in gen 2 as well but it seems kinda redundant with Weavile. It was always one of my favorite Pokemon but both useless and locked off until the postgame until gen 4, where it got to be used in the regional dex, got the physical/special split, and an evolution.

Also man, gen 6 is probably the most forgettable gen to me when it comes to new designs and everything else.

Wasn't Raiden in NFL Blitz, but not Scorpion? And while Scorpion was in Injustice 1, he wasn't in Injustice 2, yet Sub-Zero and Raiden were in said 2nd game. I beileve Kano was in a Batman game made by NRS as well.

Hell, Sub-Zero was one of the few characters to get their own (terrible) game as the lead character.

I think you could make a case that Sub-Zero's nearly as iconic as Scorpion, if not outright equals. He's even shown up in more mainline games since Scorp wasn't in MK3 vanilla. They are still examples of characters other than Scorpion being chosen for a crossover. You just stated that Scorpion was always chosen first. I gave a few examples of that not being the case.

Hell, not every game SF crosses over with chooses Ryu. Rival Schools chose Sakura and Tekken 7 went with Akuma. Tekken 7 got Geese instead of Terry, or DOA using Mai and Kula instead of Terry and Kyo. (and yet they DID take Akira and Jacky from VF). One could even argue Terry being in over Kyo in Smash is such an example, but I feel that Terry's overall popularity surpasses Kyo's longer tenure as the face of KOF.

I don't think it's super likely, but it's what I'm guessing if these company based leaks are true. While Scorpion was deconfirmed on his own, as opposed to WB games entirely. Unless we hear that WBG ain't in, then its back to square one for guessing who FP5 is.
