Apparently Dracovish or Dracovolt is the best fossil 'mon atm? Like surprisingly so. Also somehow Barrascewda is super good.

I would have never expected those things to be good at all. But then again, some sea urchin/crown-of-thorns ***** was the most surprisingly OP 'mon last Gen so I should stop underestimating Kyogre's marine friends.

I mean, let's do the maths.

Dragon/Water is a great type.

Base 75 Speed isn't good but it's definitely passable.

It gets Strong Jaw as an ability, which increases the damage of biting moves by 50%.

It has a Signature Move: Fisheous Rend, which is base 85 Power and does double damage if it hits first.

Slap a choice scarf on this thing and:

STAB+Strong Jaws+Hitting first+Rain since you're going to be running Pelipper alongside this thing = LOADSADAMAGE

I think Mario wrote that last one. (Yoshi is not very happy.)

Here's what they say if you can't see them:
Mario-"You will get a kiss on the nose soon."
Luigi-"You will inherit a lovely mansion."
Yoshi-"Your best pal will dump you in a pit to get a second jump."

One more fortune cookie and he could have gotten "Stick with your wife".

I beat the main story of sword and shield.

The villains theme is pretty good, the legendary fight is really fun and I loved the music and set up for it. They went full rpg for that one.

The championships cup is a pretty cool idea with some fun moments. Leon’s team was actually kinda of good. His haxorus wiped half my team Surprisingly. Charziard was also given a smart set.

I love how Leon is the pitcher of the league. I never realized his outfit without the cape was conveying this design. The sports caps in his room make so much sense now.

As for the overall story. It has some genuinely great themes and concepts but doesn’t execute them as flawlessly as it good.

I really liked Bede’s arc but they should have added some more time with him. Marnie’s story is nothing like people predicted but is a nice story. Really simple and short too though.

as for the gyms, I liked the fact they are back with fun and creative puzzles again and take some good ideas from trials. Each
Leader had solid personalities and were way more memorable then anyone since gen 5. ( meaning gen 6 and 7 had lesser traits to the characters. Gen 7 bought it back in the right direction though with most of them)

Piers and Opal are hands down some of the best gym leaders we’ve had. Love their personalities.

Im going to break down my story thoughts more sometime soon(maybe even tomorrow), and want to talk about how I think they could improve the story and make it arguably one of the greatest ones.

I hear there’s some post game story though and I want to check that out first though.

I'd share my thoughts on SwSh's story if there was one.

There’s definitely a good foundation for things but it doesn’t really take off.

I’m betting they were rushed due to the way some things are handled in the game

MK Deception had more good tracks than I remember. Sub-Zero and Ashrah have cool training themes. Though I still prefer MK2 and MK3 soundtrack wise when it comes to original tracks.

I actually liked how simple Sw/Sh's story was, it was refreshing to see them go back to their roots and make the gym challenge the main focus of your adventure again. After all the crazy shenanigans the last three games had a simple story with fun characters felt refreshing to me.

...Then the climax happened with a villain who's logic didn't make sense, and too many things happened in such little time with no proper build up to it. Also screw that league guy in the sunglasses and his stupid phone booth, his dumb little game of hide and seek was the opposite of fun.

As much as I adored sun and moon’s story, I didn’t like how intrusive it was. So I kind’ve enjoyed the back to basics plot.

But like you said, it all fell apart during the climax. Kinda felt like the aether foundation twist, but 100% lamer.

Also love how Zacian was apparently banned.

Just like trap moves and maybe even Dynamax soon.

I can understand the cosplay, but never will I ever understand fursuits.
It's basically cosplay of an OC. And I've hears people feel a sense of anonymity that allows them to act like their true selves or feel like a completely different person in them. Some suits even got ventilation for the heat, albeit expensive as hell.

That's not really a surprise at all. Cover legends tend to be intentionally designed to be overpowered, so it's far more surprising when they aren't banned.

I mean, box legendaries are almost always banned unless their movepool is completely garbage.

Here's looking at you, Kyurem-Black.

But actually, atm, stuff like Shadow Tag and Arena Trap isn't banned.

But yeah

With how weak OU is, I can't see Kyurem-Black staying in OU for this gen.

Afaik there's only 3 Pokemon in Ubers currently, which is the 2 box legendaries and Eternatus, and I think Mewtwo+KyuremB+W/Resh/Zek will join him alongside the SuMo Legendaries.

One good thing about SwSh's story is that you can replay the game without having to sit through dozens of plot-heavy conversations and cutscenes. I like SuMo, but I didn't have the willpower to play the second version until several months later.

SwSh's story won't be receiving any awards, but that's okay. I never really felt like it got in the way of the game, and it was still enjoyable regardless.

Greetins, fellow humans. Human fellas.

I sure do like doing normal human things, like speculating about Smash Bros characters, and then getting angry when my crazy theories don't actually come true.

Now I'm going to go complain about other people's mains, and then get defensive when they complain about mine.

Will anyone here even get this reference?
