I hope the next gen is able to draw me in. I should probably stay away from the trailers and reveals of it just so I don’t have any expectations and I won’t be upset again like lasts time.
I personally wouldn’t let one Pokémon ruin a whole gen for me, but y’know. That’s your prerogative.

I don’t know. I got into this weird mental head space with the starters. Like, I don’t like the idea of putting them away in a box because they’re cute animals that should be running free. And your starter is supposed to be your constant companion and best friend. So the relationship is supposed to be even deeper. And i can’t bring myself to stop them from evolving because there’s no way that doesn’t hurt the Pokémon.
That’s something I had in mind, at the least it would be glowing with the flame’s color

I think you'd enjoy SwSh if you tried balancing out the things you dislike with things you like. You've been very vocal about being disappointed with the starters, but there's plenty of other Pokemon to choose from, both new and old. You should be able to make the groundwork for a team you really like before getting to the first gym.

Careful, if Shiftry gets banned, then the game enters a crazy vortex state in which all players are transported to Sabrina’s Gym in Gen 1 with Pokémon knowing only Normal and Ghost type moves...

Like, I know there are Pokémon in the dex I like, but I can’t get over that starter relationship. What you’re suggesting feels like adopting a dog and then immediately releasing it into the Wild. It’s going to feel sad, frustrated, and scared. And then every time I see my rival I see them enjoying the relationship I can’t have. I know it’s silly and it’s just fictional characters and all that but.... I don’t know. It’s the idea of that relationship that drew me to want to play in the first place and caused me to get so attached to Grookey. I just wanted to be not alone anymore.
I'll be fine as long as KOS-MOS survives the slaughter.
