The reason you never noticed is because DMC's character based narrative is quite subtle, you need to pay attention to seemingly small details to get the big picture, like how Vergil is genuinely conflicted once he finds out Nero is his son. He goes from trying to kill Dante to saying "If I beat Nero, then by default, I beat you". Not only does this show he's still stubborn, but he went from a battle to the death to merely wanting to 'beat' Nero. The fight even starts off with Nero angrily lashing out at Vergil for trying to leave him out of this, what's Vergil's response, another witty remark like he always makes? An insult? No, Vergil's only able to muster a soft voice saying "Nero...". There's also how he gives Nero his book of poetry after he loses to Nero, he feels remorse and although he can't say it, he wants to make up for abandoning Nero
If that’s the reason why, then IMO it’s bad storytelling. Sure, it’s better to show and not tell. And a subtler story isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But it shouldn’t be so subtle that a person genuinely paying attention in cutscenes can’t even tell it’s there.

Geezus, that's a hot take if I've ever seen one.

I literally don't know what to say at this point(and I don't think I'm going to)

Then don't say anything.
but...but... I need to fulfill my non-existent post quota! /s

In all seriousness, I do have a argument I might use, but I don't really feel like arguing about this(especially considering I know next to nothing about the source material)

Wow, that's interesting. ^_^
Also I wanna see Charybdis as a Titan, we got Scylla so why not this,it's said to create whirlpools with it's mouth. (Posssible designs could be a dunkleosteus or either a bobbit worm.)
I've got many headcanon Titans of my own that also exists in the MonsterVerse.

-Titanus Anubis (Egypt)
-Titanus Burrunjor (Australia)
-Titanus Chupacabra (Puerto Rico)
-Titanus Dingonek (Africa; Lake Victoria)
-Titanus Emela-Ntouka (Africa)
-Titanus Fenrir (Scandinavia)
-Titanus Jersey Devil (New Jersey; Pine Barrens)
-Titanus Jormungandr (Scandinavia)
-Titanus Kasai Rex (Africa)
-Titanus Lusca (Bahamas; Blue Hole/Bermuda Triangle)
-Titanus Mbielu-Mbielu-Mbielu (Africa)
-Titanus Ogopogo (Canada; Lake Okanagan)
-Titanus Phoenix (Greece)
-Titanus Piasa (Illinois)
-Titanus Roc (Middle East)
-Titanus Sasquatch (Canada)
-Titanus Sobek (Egypt)
-Titanus Surtr (Scandinavia)
-Titanus Tarasque (France)
-Titanus Thunderbird (Missouri)
-Titanus Wendigo (Canada)
-Titanus Yeti (Tibet; Himalayas)
-Titanus Ymir (Scandinavia)
-Titanus Yowie (Australia)

Used to have Titanus Grootslang and Titanus Mapinguari but now like to think Titanus Mokele-Mbembe and Titanus Behemoth inspired those creatures of legend especially given the former's description in the novelization of King of the Monsters.

I mean, most people seem to get it.

Maybe this kind of stuff is simply not your thing?

Then you simply weren't paying attention. You were merely looking at what happened on the screen, not analyzing the characters and what depth they have. There is no other explanation as to why so many people can see it yet you cannot.

Another MonsterVerse headcanon.

Titanus Lusca given its location had been responsible for the disappearances of planes and ships over the years within the Bermuda Triangle. Unlike other Titans its been one of the more active ones and far more aggressive.

That only applies if you haven't played the previous games, particularly Devil May Cry 3.

Vergil was always someone who is very stubborn with his lust for power. He grew this lust for the desire to protect himself after he felt abandoned by his mother after she went looking for him. In Devil May Cry 3, all he does in the game, he does for power. However, you can clearly see that he still cares for Dante and Dante likewise. After his torturous life as Nelo Angelo in Devil May Cry 1, he split his soul into two to save himself from death (V and Urizen). Due to V's much more wise personality and after meeting Nero and Dante, when they both fused back into Vergil, Vergil was noticeably more calm and charitable.

Vergil has always had the conflict of wether or not I should kill my own brother for the sake of my goal. Dante fights Vergil because he has to, not because he wants to and the same can be said for Vergil. This conflict has always existed since Devil May Cry 3 and makes games like Devil May Cry 1 more harsh for the player once they know who Nelo Angelo is and Devil May Cry 5 acknowledges it. Devil May Cry 5 also has really clever foreshadowing for V if you know just a little bit of Vergil. Heck, if you know Vergil fully, the foreshadowing becomes blatant and rather obvious.

If there is one thing Devil May Cry's story has always excelled at, it's the relationship and characterization between Dante and Vergil ever since Devil May Cry 3.

This.

A lot of game fandoms have stigmas around certain characters just because people don't read between the lines. Subtext can be just as effective as main text in understanding characters.
Man I don't even need to care about Dante's and Vergil's characters with great scenes like these

Even so, there should still be character development in the main text. You can’t leave the most important part of your narrative up to merely subtext.

Dante tbh btw more then earns his spot in Smash.

He's the King of Hack n Slashing and what began that genre to begin with. Plus he easily fits into the "fun" factor so he also has that going for him.

Speaking of, I had a dream some nights ago where I dreamt Remy from Ratatouille would be FP 4 instead of Terry Bogard. I thought it was a weird decision, but weirdly accepted it.

Best quote from my theatre teacher.

”Now, in this scene, Woody says, ’Use your finger, Rex!’ and the camera switches to Rex pressing Buzz’s reset button, and Buzz jumps up. Now, the shot of Rex pushing the reset button is very important, because without that shot, multiple concerned adults would not be sure where Rex put his finger.”

Honestly his down special where he grabs the fighter’s hair and controls them is pretty OP.
