In all fairness, the game is only 3 months old as of now. There can still be plenty of exclusive variants for the other characters later down the line.

True. I got 50 bucks on reindeer/Rudolph Yoshi being one of the next two tour exclusives.

Then again, Winter Coat Peach is what the fans really want.

Still, I can think of a thousand better ways to convince someone I love to leave me alone, and none of them involve summoning a 20-foot snow monster with ice spikes.

I surely hope not.

The last time we got a remake instead of an enhanced version was Gen 6, when we got ORAS instead of Z. The games felt the impact of that as late as Gen 7 (which relegated Zygarde to a lazy sidequest since it was unresolved in XY) and Kalos is still as lifeless as ever.

From what I've seen, Sword and Shield have a solid foundation upon which Game Freak could build off of to create one of the better Pokémon games in the series. Add in another 100-150 Pokémon (or all Pokémon if they're ambitious), make the Trainer AI smarter and maybe balance the level curve a bit, revamp the Battle Tower to make it more like the Battle Tree and/or add a Battle Frontier, alter the story a bit to make it more cohesive and not a complete joke, fix up some of the worse parts of the game (battle backgrounds and music in cutscenes) and refine the Wild Area to make it more lively and you've got yourself at least a Top 5 Pokémon Games of all time.

Add in Kalos as postgame/DLC and that's an easy Top 3.

It drives me insane that Dragapult can learn Dragon Claw, but for some reason not Shadow Claw.

Why does Gamefreak have to do these things to me? They're always so overly conservative with the movepools of new 'mons.

There's a reason that no one laddering is running a physical moveset. Its physical pool is soo shallow.

You either run Choice Specs, or Dual Screens.

I guess I’m never all that critical of movies and whatnot unless they just seem very stupid, and even then I’m not really much of a critic regardless, so I personally didn’t really notice any issues with Frozen and liked it. I agree it is a bit odd Elsa gets most of the spotlight from fans despite Anna being just as (if not more) major of a character, but you know, magical girl with ice powers.

Also ngl Mai Shiranui caring that a rap is suitable for good boys and girls of all ages is funny to me.

Hey, I can finally join in on all the Pokemon talk. I’ve been playing a romhack called Renegade Platinum, and I definitely remember why I had such a fondness for this series. The difficulty of it is just right so far, and I like all the subtle changes they made and new events in the hack. Feels completely official, would definitely recommend it so far.

Oh hey, you reminded me.

Any of you know a good way to acquire and emulate a rom of gen 4? That was my entry point to the series and I would love to play it again.

I've been soft-resetting for roughly an hour with Zacian.

Not a single Jolly nature, but have gotten Adamant twice. I'd settle for Adamant, if I didn't value Jolly as the better nature for the dude. Oy.

No you see evaluating your options and buying a copy of the game from a random guy on Ebay actually fuels the economy, which through a chain of business links back to the original developers, so you’re still supporting them and have no excuse to pirate.

Found a new Smash scene. Got a map win in doubles with my new friend and coach/trainer. Tied for last place in singles again which has me cringing, but the people there are very friendly. I'm satisfied.

My biggest issue is confidence. When I'm confident and go in, I can hang with many of them. But when I doubt myself... bodied.

Mints don't actually change the nature, just the stat growth. Plus it costs a butt ton of BP, and I'd rather use mints on other Pokemon.

For my Pokemon, I simply prefer for the nature to be authentic. Call it nostalgia, but it's something I prefer to do. I'll be doing it for my neutral natured Eternatus, but that's because there's a bs cutscene before it and I don't feel like watching it over, and over, and over again lol.

Wait I just realized that I specifically was reminded BECAUSE you yourself have to be emulating to be playing a romhack in the first place.
