My hopes for Pokémon is that they'll take next year off. Spend all of next year and up to Holiday 2021 and release either really cool Gen 4 remakes or a third version/sequel to SwSh. Preferably SwSh sequels, but Gen 4 remakes is what I'm expecting.

Knowing a little about game design leads me to believe any potential "3rd game" or direct sequel to SS would already be in development behind closed doors at this point in time.

We just don't know the answer yet :)

Phew, finally got a Jolly Zacian. Will have to use bottle caps on Speed, Sp. Def and Defense, but that's fine. All I wanted was for the nature to say Jolly.

Probably! While I'd prefer they take more time with it, I think a SwSh remaster next year would still excite me.

Bigger dex, more Gigantimax forms, and new gyms would be enough to pique my interest. Gen 8 has already gotten off to a much better start than I initially thought it would. I really do think things look bright ahead for the series, but that's just me.

Personally, the only thing that would convince me to buy any Pokemon game at this point is to just polish it, and not rush. Hell, I would be fine with a 10-year wait, BOTW style, so long as it isn't as unpolished as SS was.
Like, from what I've seen of gameplay so far, it has some highs, but the lows tend to overpower the highs(the online system is actual garbage lmao)

I disagree about the lack of polish. I think they did a pretty decent job with the time they had, and I haven't had an issue with the online so far. I do think it needs more polish, but I do think some exaggerate how bad the game's problems really are.

Also, meh online ain't exclusive to Pokémon. It's unfortunately a Nintendo wide thing. :urg:

So how do you perform a soft reset in SwSh? Can you? What's the method for getting a shiny or a nature you want?

I never said that the game didn't have polish, but I did say(or rather pretty blatantly imply) it needs more. Way more.
For me?
First of all, the render distance is abyssal, and I'm honestly concerned for the crunch of the devs if it's set low enough that objects can just pop-in 2 feet in front of you.
Secondly, the Wild Area definitely needs some work.
For starters, needs to have more to do besides camping, cooking, and catching/raid battles. Maybe have that one tower with all the ghost pokemon be part of a side quest or something?
And lastly, more post game. The battle tower is cool and all, but I honestly would love to see a way to rematch some of the plot relevant fights(you vs the Chairman, and You+Hop+both box legendaries vs the evil legendary)

That's fair. I'll never say no to more content, so here's hoping for the best! I definitely love the game just the way it is, but it of course could be better.

If you're not running game over on hero death you should be able to bypass the first fight after beating it if you don't go back to the autosave (like going back to the church instead) unless they changed that. Some people like the challenge of doing both in a row though.

For my Pokemon, I simply prefer for the nature to be authentic. Call it nostalgia, but it's something I prefer to do. I'll be doing it for my neutral natured Eternatus, but that's because there's a bs cutscene before it and I don't feel like watching it over, and over, and over again lol.

Guess Ill just have to bite the bullet and lose coins then also I turned off my dragonian Quests a while ago. Had harder monsters but I knoe act 2 and 3 have upped difficulty

Whats funny for me is that in raid battles, the only teammate I hope I get is Poke Kid Girl and her Eevee for both Helping Hand and max adorableness. Because in a battle against a titan, having a smol precious cinnamon roll duo gurantees victory.
