It's happened to me several times now. I quote the original post but when I click post reply, I see your edited post in mine. I don't actually see the edits on your post until I refresh.

Gaming is moving away from what I like. My favorite genres don't get made anymore. MS's conference was an indicator of that. My one potential saving grace for the rest of E3 is that Square Enix owns Gex. But nothing will probably happen and I'll just keep on being a sad snake and cry out my weight in water.

Have you considered Rouge-likes? Most of them are really fun with practice.

Dude, I could make MILLIONS of platformer reccomendations for you that's come out over the past few years. Fighting games are bigger than ever where you can get Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Street Fighter, Fighting EX Layer, Samurai Shodown, Smash Ultimate, and so much more are available RIGHT NOW. And we just got what is probably the best hack and slash games in YEARS with Devil May Cry 5. And that's without even mentioning the games that haven't gotten announced yet. Just have fun dude. It's not the end of those types of games. They're always on the horizon.

Seems to me you just need to spread your horizons more. Try out new genres or games in ththe same genres you like. Relying on past franchises that have been dormant longer than people here have been alive will do you no good.

It was a platformer series made by id before Wolfenstein and Doom. One of the games has even been ported to Switch.

I try. But shooters and RPGs and Ass-Arkham Creed games don’t really interest me.
