I have a feeling Microsoft's conference is gonna be really good, not sure why, just a gut feeling.

All I hope for is that Battletoads looks good, huge fan of the NES game, so I'm interested in seeing how they modernize it since it's not exactly an easy sell in the modern game industry. I expect it'll still be a difficult game since that's practically its entire identity, but sidescroller beat 'em ups aren't exactly flourishing these days, and are they going to keep things like 3 game overs to send you back to the start, and co-op buddies dying sending everyone back? Those are key reasons the original is so difficult, but I don't think you can get away with those things today, it's not exactly good game design.

I actually wouldn’t mind if the new project/potential Smash appearance used Nuts & Bolts’s art Style. It’s not that bad.

I don't think N&B design is bad aside of the blockyness.

JK, I have been in the thread for a while to know whom you're talking about or at least some people that were aware of the whole box/Grinch shenanigans.

Microsoft isn’t stupid. They‘re aware of the poor reception Nuts and Bolts got, and they’re aware that most of the fan base nowadays is people who have nostalgia for the old games.

If there is a new game, it’ll either be a proper Banjo-Threeie, or a remake of Banjo-Kazooie (maybe a bundle with Tooie).
I’d prefer the latter, seeing as the most of the original team isn’t at Rare any more, and modern Rare doesn’t have experience making a Banjo game. Maybe remaking the original(s) will help them understand what made the first two beloved, so they’re better prepared to make Banjo-Threeie later down the line.

N&B reception is kinda unwarranted (like Federation Force), and could've existed as a spinoff to the mainline B&K games.

I don't think he wasn't expected it, he was calling attention to it in the same way he normally does in the Smash directs.
