So apparently, Tom and Jerry weren't the first cartoon duo named Tom and Jerry. There was another duo from 1931 with the same names.

I learned this today after seeing one of their cartoons (which was pretty racist).

What makes this funny is that Joseph Barbera, who co-created the Tom and Jerry we know and love, actually worked on this series.

On one hand, you're gonna have "Anime sword!" "Japan bias!" "Too many rpgs" for Tales of

And for Kosmos, I can't even say here what people will say due to the risk of infractions.

Very fun times ahead if it comes down to these 2.

I’ve been away for the past few weeks because Dragon Quest XI S has consumed and taken up most of my time and I’d like to thank Sakurai for introducing me to this legendary franchise. I ended up beating the final boss on Monday and now I’m just messing around in the post-game as I have gotten the sword and shield that the Hero has in Smash Ultimate. The series has amazing music and great story telling as well and I’m hoping that we will eventually see more of the main series games ported over like VIII and I’d also like to see a new Dragon Quest Monsters series game on the Switch if that’s possible. Needless to say XI is what made me a fan.

I mean, I think it'd be actually surprising if neither Capcom or Namco got a newcomer by the end of all DLC. There's just too many great gaming characters to pick from.

I'd say Tekken, Digimon, and Resident Evil all are almost certainly joining the roster by the end of ultimate's life. Maybe even a 2nd capcom franchise if we're lucky.

Tekken I think makes a ton of sense, despite the fact that Sakurai said what he has about Heihachi. But to have the chance to put the 4 largest fighting characters against each other (Mario, Ryu, Heihachi, Terry Bogard)? How could you pass that up?

Resident Evil just makes a lot of sense based on the size of the series, legacy for gaming, and the amount of content we could get.

Digimon is still big though, and it brings the chance for Pikachu vs. Agumon. But I'm just not sold on it in Smash yet.

I think there’s a few questions that will still need answers after #5.

2) Will Banjo be the first of more western 3rd parties, or will he continue to be an exception?
3) Will spirits and ATs continue to disconfirm?
4) Will it continue to be all 3rd party?

That in itself provides some interesting topics to chew on, though folks already expect my answers. Part of me hopes #5 surprises, but I also hope that it puts one highly discussed series out of the running. I like RE, but I obviously would like to move on from that after it gets in Smash. I’m sure the community would as well.

To me, the future characters aren't an issue. Unless they're super quick to come, at the rate we're getting them, if there really are 10 left, we're not gonna be done until 2021.
