It’s because of all the people who complained about them showing too much from Sun and Moon. They overcorrected.
At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see them till the game actually launches and any and all information about them on the internet gets blacked out by government censors so “the game doesn’t get spoiled”.

I’m just mad. Stop giving us this back of the box crap and actually show us something that makes us want to buy the game.

This wasn't worth any hype. We have 4 or 5 weeks until the game releases worldwide and still no starters evos.

At this point, either end of Oct or early Nov for those or we just gotta play the game to see

So we have three types of Pokemon fans, the ones that go "UGH, MORE GEN 1", and the ones that go "FINALLY, Butterfree gets some love!"

And the 3rd group is, "FINALLY, CHONKACHU IS BACK!"

Meh, can't say this update was particularly interesting. Feels like more Gen 1 shilling. Seems like Gigantamax Pikachu was confirmed from the leak after all in that it would look like OG Pikachu. Too bad I can't get that or Gigantamax Eevee because I didn't purchase Let's Go.

Butterfree getting a Gigantamax is cool though since it previously missed out on the Mega train.

Also, I'm okay with starter evolutions not being revealed yet. The first stage evolutions are usually revealed very close to the release date, while the final evolutions are not revealed prior to the release date (Alola was the only exception to that so far, but Sun and Moon's promotional trailers basically leaked all the new Alola 'mons prior to the games' release, and that didn't give us much of surprises to experience firsthand when we finally played those games).

Regardless of anyone's feelings about the litany of other things going on with SwSd, Dynamaxing has just been wholly underwhelming IMHO.

Mega Evolution, while unbalanced at time, was perfectly fine and a natural progression in the "Monster Collecting" game-genre.


Dynamaxing is literally "But what if we made it....BIGGER?"

like, I know it’s mean to say this, but this game more than anything feels like they’re just banking on people buying it because it’s Pokémon. At this point I’m just sick of waiting. I said a long time ago that I wanted to see what they evolved into before I decided to buy it or not. I expected to at least know the middle stage by now. Heck, we’re so close to launch I expected to know the finals by now. It would be sorta fine if they were showing us something else interesting in the mean time but they’re not.

I almost want to do something that stops people from buying it so the game tanks and they realize that every descision they’ve made with Sword and Shield was the wrong one and maybe they’d make some changes.

There’s a middle ground between Sun and Moon and Sword and Sheild for pre-release marketing. FIND IT!

Looks like Little Town Hero came out today, seems like the reviews are pretty split. Reviews have ranged from 9/10 to 6/10, but this is the first time I’ve seen Gamexplain say they hated a game in their reviews.

For my thoughts on the new Gigantamax forms, the coolest one for me would be Charizard's, it's such a bada** looking design. The rest of them are fine enough, though I got a little suprised with how they're kinda calling back to Pikachu's classic design with it's new Gigantamax form.

At this point, I just want to finally do my evil Pokémon team concept. The core concept of it goes in one of two ways, depending on how the Galarian starters evolve. And I just really wanna finish this idea and share it with y’all since I’ve been sitting on it for half a year.

That and it really feels like they’re just banking on “it’s Pokémon, it will sell regardless” and not actually selling the game to people. And it’s that hubris that makes me mad more than anything else.

That would be fine if they were showing us other actually interesting stuff that makes you want to buy the game in the meantime. Like a story trailer, or other Pokémon, but they’re not. They’re not showing us anything beyond what you can read on the back of the box.
