I'm not gonna say too much about Digimon since my knowledge of the series extends as far as me knowing any Twitter post mentioning Renamon is probably something I should stay away from, but regarding how likely it is for Smash? Ehh...

I'll just say that:
  1. It's rarely brought up today in conversation.
  2. Its popularity has sort of faded away.
  3. There are dozens upon dozens of third-parties who are "extremely iconic and important to gaming history."
We've gotten DLC characters who have broken a few of these points (see Joker and Terry), but having all three makes me think a Digimon rep at the very least it not a safe bet.
Sakurai has a history of picking "unsafe bets". As far as I'm concerned, the man can't be predicted and the unlikely is just as likley as the likely.

I'm pretty sure Digimon is a very high grossing franchise (that's what I've heard anyway), but the games and v-pets are a pretty low factor in that success, so take from that what you will.

I’ll return if there’s no Digimon!
You come after my child and I will return you to the witchy flesh sack from whence you came!

Same is true of Pokemon correct?

True, but you can't use that as an argument for why Digimon is so likely for DLC.

It doesn't make sense to say, "Nobody expects this franchise to get a character, therefore Sakurai is just as likely to pick Digimon as he would any other franchise."

Except it does make sense because it's freakin true.

Also, Nintendo does the picking. Not him.

Dunkey inherently hates JRPGs and refuses to give praise to any of them.
Sidenote, Dunkey says game journalists are bad because they deliberately play games they know they won't like just to trash them yet when he does it it's ok
I mean, he gave DQXI a three out of five, which I think is really telling. His main issue is just the grinding.

Like I was fully expecting a one lmao.

I wonder though, if the Pokémon anime has Kanto as the hub, could we possibly visit it in sword and shield? Let’s go could help with some foundation for it and we have train tracks that seemingly go off the map so maybe it’s possible

What was bad about his octopath review?
Mostly hates the crap of JRPG but still reviwes them and also the fact the footage he used of him playing the game was just him doing standard attacks on a begining monster in Olberics path. No skills, no defend, just Attack

Oh boy, I can't wait to visit Kanto again

Seriously though, if SWSH has any postgame region, I'm hoping for Kalos.

My biased love of Gen VI aside, i feel like we didn't get to fully explore the region properly, and X&Y had a whole lotta weird lose ends.

And what would you know? Kalos had some train tracks that went off the map, too. And with Galar being another region based on a European country. It makes too much sense not to.

Though this is Gamefreak we're talking about, so I ain't getting my hopes up whatsoever.

Sorry if this post came off as a little unwarranted, my apologies.

Does anyone else have this inexplicable yet profound feeling of sadness as night falls this time of year? It's a sensation I've felt since I was really young but it seems like the cool in the air always tugs at my heartstrings even when theres nothing to feel sorrowful about.

For this first time in almost a year, I completed a 5 hour shift.

That might not sound like a big deal, but it's a big deal to me, because of my health problems.

Feeling very good right now.

No. I refuse! You are NOT getting little Tiara!

I know I read it somewhere.

Graizen Graizen help me out here. You probably have this saved somewhere.
Ok!

I kinda doubt that Bandai Namco’s most profitable franchise is Digimon. Do you have a source on that?
Here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_media_franchises

For Bandai Namco you will see:

1 - Pac-man
2 - Digimon
3 - Tamagotchi

No other Bandai Namco franchise is on this list.

Digimon made more than Minecraft, Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, Assassin's Creed, Gran Turismo and Yo-kai Watch.

I'm watching Doctor Who for the first time - I was originally going to start with the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant, aka Killgrave from Jessica Jones and Scrooge McDuck in the new DuckTales series), but a lot of people told me that if I skipped the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston, who I mainly know as Claude Rains from Heroes), then I'd have a tough time following what's going on.

I'm enjoying it so far, though I could have done without the constant fart jokes from the Slitheen in episodes four and five. Episode six reintroduces the Daleks, and from what little I know about the Daleks, I'm assuming that things are going to head south very quickly.

You forgot to mention how butthurt he got over the critique on his Octopath video that he decided to dance around the complaints that people had over him in his sequel video about game journalists. He's a prime example of someone that can dish it out but can't take it.

Indivisible is so good.

Does anyone else play it in here?
I heard about it and I'm slightly interested in it, I might get it during a future sale.

Thanks!

hey. While I’ve got you, what kind of moveset would you want for Augumon?
Evolutions being the main mark of his moveset, probably with a controlled energy bar. Filling up will evolve into different forms and grow stronger for a while, and then regress. Perhaps evolving into a very powerful form will make you return to your training form called Koromon for a few seconds, which is an extremely vulnerable form and you will only need to escape for a while until it evolves into Agumon again.

Oh yes, excellent! Somebody to talk to about the show!
Doctor Who is one of my favs, and you made the right call: just go in order in the modern series. But also dont forget about the specials in between season 4 and 5 and the doctor who "day of the doctor" movie along with the other specials. Basically, watch the specials in order too.

And, Dalek is my FAVORITE story from the modern series. It does everything right: engaging story, plenty of character development, lore is highly developed, and it's all around very well written.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure when to watch the specials, but a Walmart near me had a BluRay set of all of the Tenth Doctor's episodes and specials, so I assume the listing on the disc would be in order. If I get the chance (my arm's in a cast for the next week and a half, so my travel options are limited), I'll pick that up, or order it online if it's gone the next time that I go in. (one time, I ordered a DVD through Amazon only to get an empty case, so I'm a bit more hesitant about buying sight-unseen)

Wow. That would be cool.

That would be a lot of work for a DLC character though.... plus how do you charge for it since it's technically multiple characters? And how many forms do you give it?
