maybe from a dev viewpoint it makes sense but as a consumer it would be hard to justify that purchase

To play Devil's Advocate, it is the same base game, just rebuilt (from the ground up, most likely)with a new artstyle with some minor changes here and there, in comparison to the original game.

I can definitely see both sides.

What really gets me is why they're taking so long just to tease the darn thing.

Why drag on the buildup for so long? Just reveal the thing in-full already. As awesome as a Galarian Rapidash will be, it's still just a single Pokemon. Not to mention probably one of the only new things that will be revealed in the stream at this rate.
