I think a good chunk of the 2nd wave of DLC will come down to if the characters are 1st party or 3rd parties.


I can see 1st parties taking much less time to produce if Sakurai's statement about 'some stages taking up to a year to develop' is true.


Theoretically, you could just give a 1st party character a couple tracks from their game and call it good.


3rd parties I feel will take marginally more time since of course they'll get a stage.

Up to that point, aside from it being on the Switch, Nintendo should and would have zero copyright holding on that.

The SMRPG music that got a copyright claim were from a channel that Nintendo was specifically targeting to take down, and no other channel that had SMRPG music got affected. Ask yourself this, why didn't music from other smash newcomers get taken down? It's because they weren't uploaded by a channel that was the subject of assassination.

And now we have precedence that Nintendo's on the lookout for songs that are to appear in Smash if "Megalovania Remix" has anything to say.



Granted, his skin could just return with the 2 copyright struck songs but...


It's 50/50.

As for the Megalovania remix, it was falsely labeled as a Smash remix, along with other music from other series that weren't owned by Nintendo. Quite a few of these got copyright claims, not just Megalovania, so I feel like this was just a mistake.

Fight Against an Armed Boss was the other one, so pretty much the two most popular songs from the game. The suspicious thing about it is that it was Nintendo that took them down, not Square, who to our knowledge are the ones that own the music, but who knows how all that is really stitched together behind the scenes.

yeah i'm gonna say this is just the mii costume coming back but with the SMRPG songs as an added bonus, now we have that as a precedent with sans

Probably not in actual development, but it could have been planned as far back as then. With so many negotiations going on for DLC, you can bet ya that they'll have everything planned and sorted out well ahead of time, for a game of Smash's magnitude I can't imagine there are many things that happen with short notice.

With SNES Online, this would actually be my first time playing Link To The Past.

Enjoy it - it's a fantastic game, though depends if you like a structure that's very much dungeon focused (there aren't really that many sidequests or things to do on the overworld)

It's also probably one of the best games to get into the Zelda series but I'm assuming you've already played other Zelda games (iirc you mentioned something about BotW a while ago?) - I'm probably just biased cos it was my first one though lol

I honestly doubt even the Megalovania remix takedown had anything to do with Smash and I'd be willing to be Sans and Megalovania were decided sometime this year rather than planned all the way back to before the game's release, like some would suggest.
