That’s literally the dumbest thinking. Ike is one of the one unique in the game simply because he’s a heavy sword user. Roy doesn’t play anything like Marth or even Chrom. At one point I was someone who argued about sales, but those are bad and flawed arguments. There’s no valid system to compare it among the roster and it’s incredibly biased.
Not that I disagree with your main points, but Roy and Chrom has some differences in their playstyles but they're still both rushdown swordies with strong kill confirms, tons of speed and amazing shield pressure. Chrom can get more reward off spacing but he's not great at it since high speed combined with bad drift makes it difficult to microspacespace. They still play really similar.

...But they're echoes, so they get a pass.

I predict that the direct will have Banjo's release date, and Microsoft still won't take advantage of this excellent marketing strat.

The younger gen will still be clueless on who he is.

Fun day today with my mom and her boyfriend. Went to this reptile place called Reotilia, got to see many reptiles, even an alligator feeding show and a tour behind what workers do like if bitten by venomous snakes and feeding them which I got to do and even got a photo of holding an dwarf caiman.

Next year when I visit my mom again. I was evenoffered to work there for the day as an junior worker. Much look forward to that.

Then we went to the movies having a double feature for the first time. Hobbs & Shaw for the third and final time and Angel Has Fallen.

Tomorrow I'll be heading back home. It was fun just as last year and every year that will follow.

But, if they market him too much, won’t he become a shill pick rather than a fan favorite pick? :p

Can't imagine they have any more of an idea who Joker and Hero are.

You Must Be This Old To Know The DLC Characters
I mean, DQ11 and Persona 5 are on modern gen consoles, with bith getting rerealeases very soon, so they can learn, especially with DQ since it's on the Switch and more... child friendly than Persona.

Like, what does Banjo have? Rare Replay? Something that's been mentioned like once, over 4 years ago? That's not fresh at all like P5R or DQ11S lol. Just shove Rare Replay on Switch to captivate a younger audience, even if it's boomer who would buy it, I mean, N-Sane did wonders for Crash, and he wasn't even in Smash.

That's implying that there weren't people who wanted Banjo in just so they could get a new Banjo game.

Which week, though, may I ask?
The last two years it’s been on the 13th. Though last year that was because of the earthquake in Japan, they might have noticed this pattern and decided to stick with it.

I think always having a September direct on a specific date would be a nice constant for a company that usually avoids them.

I'm gonna wager not many kids now are gonna have the patience to sit through long-form JRPGs like Persona and Dragon Quest. It's not really a stretch to say that the DLC so far has been aimed towards an older crowd.

Aren't Nintendo Directs sometimes released two weeks after an Indie Direct is released? Just saying.

I mean, you never know. The demand for Earthbound was high due to Ness and Lucas, and I believe it was one of the best selling games on the Wii U VC, and a lot of the Wii U's userbase was younger people, who, btw, do make up a good chunk of the portion who want Mother 3.

At the same time, Fire Emblem did garbage after Melee, up until Awakening, which nearly killed the series if it didn't sell well, but I don't even know their target audience.

I guess saying little kids is wrong, but maybe people 10-18 would be a better bet. Still part of the young gen, but not quite old enough to be in the 90s kids crew, but also old enough to get JRPGS

I'm positive there will be a direct somewhere between the 1st and the 15th, i'd be surprised if there wasn't. That being said, what are you guys hoping to see?

Oh yeah, Sugiyama.

I wonder how the series will be without him, considering that DQ11 may be his last game due to his old age.
I feel thisnis another "wishing death on Sugiyama" posts I keep seeing whenever people feel the need to bring him up. And yes, I see people saying "Thanfully he may die soon"

Besides a port of Xenoblade X, I'd really like to see SNES games added to Nintendo Switch Online.

My bet is second week of September for the direct. I also think the last title will be whatever the sunshine hints are for

Oh no, this isn't a "I hope he will die" post, but Sugiyama is pretty old, approaching 90, usually the age where people, well, you know, but he had such a huge role in DQ that I don't know where the series would be without him. Like, I heard he has a successor, but will that person be able to hold a candle to him?

I'm more asking this in the vein of something like "What if So-and-So stopped working on X? Where would the series be?", instead of something like "I hope So-and-So dies".

Persona 5 is M rated. Little kids aren't engaging in that unless they're watching YouTube walkthroughs of a 100 hour RPG.

If there's a September Direct, it will probably be in the first week. The Tokyo Game Show is the second week and September Directs are always before it.
