An interesting post concerning data mining that may be helpful in speculating about new modes. There was a list of modes that were numbered (e.g., cmn_mode_melee_00 is Smash, and continues through 07, which is the Shop), as well as gaps in the numbering at launch. Now that there have been new modes, some gaps have been filled (such as cmn_mode_other_09 for Stage Builder) and some other modes, such as VR, that added a new numbered item. Could give us an idea of what section planned modes are from, though it's not a final list as some modes have been added by adding new numbered items. I have no expertise in data mining, or ideas of possible new modes, so I'll leave that here for a discussion.

To me that says they have more stuff planned, even if VR was an afterthought.

I've been obsessed with Cadence of Hyrule lately. At first I thought I was going to get fed up with the gimmick, but it's actually quite refreshing. It's also a really great game to play co-op.

I mean, considering police brutality is incredibly common nowadays in the US (and outside it, considering what's been happening in Hong Kong), and the fact that many people's faith in them is at an all-time low, I think that was inevitable.

There's nothing wrong with not wanting to play a game when it's a pretty hot button issue. Though that's about all I can say while staying within the thread rules. I won't say whether I agree with it, but I can understand it.

This reminds me of something a friend told me about in a chat, where somebody said they thought that Resident Evil or any character with guns wouldn’t be in the Fighter Pass because of the recent mass shootings in the US. There’s...literally no connection. Those characters were decided upon at least a year ago, in a country that experiences far fewer mass shootings.

Like, all I have to say is, is that it’s a game. Yes, life imitates art, and art imitates life, but there are other factors there. It’s not as if Platinum was like, “Bruh, there’s going to be protests...let’s release this cop game at the time of protests!”

Not even close. This isn’t to detract from what currently happening though, as protest is an essential aspect of any healthy society.

I REALLY need to figure out what I’m doing before this birthday party later, because I’m basically sitting here doing nothing. HALP.

To be fair, it's not explicitly stated, it's just my speculation. It's just he gives off such evil vibes that it would be shocking if he wasn't. I'm basing this off just the opening cutscene basically, so I guess spoilers for that?
