The complaints stem less from the actual attacks' animations and more so from the Pokémons' individual animations, which are the same as on the 3DS.

I mean, yeah, it's much cheaper and less time consuming to reuse animations, stuff like that isn't a Pokemon exclusive issue, in fact, it's less realistic to make every Pokemon to have a new, unique animation.

idk I agree with MightyP that the animations are pretty good, especially on the moves and the gym leaders

I'm just saying that complaining about graphics and animations feels really trivial

3H graphics are awful compared to pokemon and pretty much every other AAA game on the switch but its still a good game

surely there's better things to complain about with pokemon than a few sub par animations

I think their E3 trailers and demos were made a few months earlier in development, maybe as far back as late winter. Seems like they're spending a lot of their remaining time touching up the game's visuals, which isn't really too abnormal. That's why you have to wait until the final product before you start hammering the animations and backgrounds.

The Pokemon themselves still don't have terrible animations. They're not very flashy and don't tend to stand out much, but the animations are still fairly clean. They look professional at least.

Besides, there's still a ton of stand out animation mixed in. Check out Ludicolo's idle animation.

Or Furret's quick and snappy physical attack.

well I mean NOW they are good but maybe they should of saved there "High Quality animations" for when they had Actually high quality from animations to show off other than a t posing wingull and scorbunny hopping in place twice while it's idle animation plays while doing double kick

I mean, did we really expect them to make unique kicking animations for every pokemon that learns that move though?

I get why people didn't like the animation justification but I think people have really been over exaggerating how "bad" the game's visuals were as a result.

This is pretty much what I'm saying. They should have save the high quality animations reason for anything after E3, because now, I can legit see the quality animations, but all people are going to do is circlejerk about Wingull and Double Kick calling them quality animations.
But I thing they spent most of the times on the human models, those are really expressive, even if someone makes the same Hop Hau animation comparison that actually somewhat misleading.

No, but every attack had something more than hopping in place.

I'm sure the did something with Double Kick, but let's just admit that they game should not have been shown off at E3 in the state that it was. Glaring issues all around.

Anyway, I probably am getting Sw&Sh sometime. I was a bit skeptical in June after the whole E3 thing, but now, I do like what I see after each new trailer.

Then again, the NatDex wasn't that big of an issue to me, so maybe I shouldn't say anything.

Qwilfish
Rotom (Fun Fact, he wasn't in Gen 7 for some reason)

Btw, we have more Gen 5 mon in the game than we do of Gen 1.
