That's the thing, there's a whole lotta candidates when it come to RH representation. Us not agreeing on a single one is likely the main reason you don't see any of em super high in fan polls. Heck, even I'm not quite sure. I personally narrowed it down to 4.

Karate Joe has the honor of having a variation of his rhythm game "Karate Man" in every single game since the original. Tbh, his only real downside is that he'd focus too much on punching and kicking, while in my eyes, a true RH rep should focus having a whole lotta characters and items in a G&W/Pac-Man style manner. That being said, he's pretty much one of the series mascots, so I think he's at least worth mentioning

Tibby is a very new face, having only debuted in the most recent game in the series Rhythm Heaven Megamix. In that game, he's treated as the main character as the whole game kinda has flowing narrative. Due to him being a blank slate of sorts, he could easily have a whole lotta items and characters from the series in his moveset without feeling out of place

The Wrestler and/or Reporter. They're oneoffs, but they've got some notoriety given their memetic status as their rhythm game, "Ringside", became the subject of a hundred internet parodies back in the day and thus, it's one of the most wellknown among them.

Tap Trial Girl. She's one of the series' many "rhythm girls" of sorts. Her minigame "Tap Trial" is reoccurring, having appeared in 3 out of the 4 main series games. That, and like Tibby (Heck, maybe even moreso than Tibby), she's a blank slate so you can easily give her elements from throughout the series without it feeling odd.

If I had to pick one out of all these... uh... Reporter and Wrestler

I'd be perfectly fine with any others tho, like Chorus Kids, the Barista, and so on

Out of curiosity, as a stranger to the franchise. But who in your opinion would make the best pick from Rhythm Heaven?

A lot of people throw around Chorus Kids and Karate Joe, but I think the video concept below is probably the most creative idea I've seen in a while and would love to see something like this implemented in the future, which is basically amalgamating all of the characters into one, similarly to how Duck Hunt incorporated various Light Gun characters in their movesets, but taking it up to 11.

Anyway, I don't really care about many of those characters. I'm mildly interested in Chorus Kids for the moveset and Shadow because of his importance and relevance, but I don't care about the rest.

Personally, I'd prefer a pass that focuses on new and upcoming games. Edelgard and Zacian alone would make me more hyped.

Unfortunately, there is always still the one thing that stands in the way of a Rhythm Heaven anything (including stages and AT’s) being practical, which is online lag... how do you suppose they get around that? It might be possible with rollback netcode rather than Smash’s current delaying netcode, since the music would be in sync client side at least, but who knows if they’d ever go for that?

It would definitely have to be a part of the initial design process itself, so at best, in the next base game (I personally don’t see it happening). But if that was the concept, and they were able to work out the logistics, I’d be totally on board. Otherwise, it doesn’t appeal to me personally.

Well then why not just leave this one and make it permanent again? The problems in the original thread stemmed from upset users most of who have left the forum or calmed down by now. There’s also been good changes to the site appeasing most. So we probably won’t have any problems unless something really bad happens again.

Honestly not Ashe. I like his character, he’s my highest level and unless I’m doing something wrong his stats are pretty trash outside of def.

Ingrid is a great flier for me currently. She came in clutch saving villagers in the last chapter I played.

I don’t know your house or unit but if you need a strong armor a lot of people support hilda

I think this thread has been good, for a social thread, though I would prefer a thread that was more focused on Smash (discussions of the current game, speculation, etc). Perhaps that thread is on these boards and I haven't found it. It's just hit or miss if it's a conversation that I have anything to contribute to given the wide range of topics. I dunno, I miss the types of conversations, consistent conversations, I had in the General thread pre-release, though perhaps such a focused thread wouldn't have the same momentum post-release.

As much as I’d love for it to happen so we could get Isaac and Geno. It’s not gonna happen because Assist trophies can’t become playable during dlc. When upgrading from title to title, sure. But not in DLC.

Sure. I wasn’t thrilled that he was outright missing. But I at least had hope that he COULD be dlc. Even if he wasn’t. Being an Assist Trophy kills that possibility completely.

I know what you guys are coming from with the hope thing, and I understand, but there's always the feeling of the chance that your character may be outright forgotten like some other assists were. And besides, being in a non-playable role at least means that your character is still under some sort of radar, and I rather have that than simply waiting for a character to... not show up at all.
