The funny thing is the "cereal mascot" insult is such a non-insult fans of these characters have embraced the term as a shorthand.

I already have it, I just need to actually...well, play it, lol.

I've heard plenty of good things about it, and the soundtracker is killer.

I don't own Three Houses yet but between my girlfriend playing it in front of me, having recently gotten a new phone allowing me to FINALLY try out Fire Emblem Heroes and slowly working my way through Fire Emblem Warriors DLC history maps, I'm on a bit of a Fire Emblem kick right now.

I'll probably try and find my 3DS and try and complete Awakening in a new playthrough rather than putting it down when I got bored.

Aside from Fire Emblem, Resident Evil has peaked my interest again with the news of 5 upcoming which was a blast in co-op. Currently playing Revelations on my Switch in preparation for it. I may even buy 6 despite it's critical lambast for the ridiculous co-op action.

Started out with and still using Axton. Still on my first playthrough, actually, picked it up again after a few years of neglecting it, and I can say I wish I had picked it up again sooner. It's a really fun and unique FPS. Axton's sentries are great. I'll try out the others soon, I'll probably go for Zer0 next.

I've still yet to play an FE game. Some people say I should go for Heroes first, others say steer clear and go for one of the console titles. Needless to say, I'm conflicted on what to try first. But if Heroes is free, I'll probably just go with that.

I’m having a good time but memories of a traumatic event are weighing me down to the point where it hinders my present enjoyment. It is a constant source of fear and regret keeping me from truly moving on with my life even a year later, and I’m still not quite sure how to deal with it.

Hey, I made Dorothea into a Mortal Savant, since I have 3 other units who are going to become Gremory, her sword rank was pretty good & the fact that I gave her a Levin Sword.

Think it's a decent choice?

Nice! I still haven't had a proper go with Axton, mained Maya with a nurse skill tree set myself to partner up with Krieg. That teams pretty broken as if Maya goes down, Krieg has a skill to swap going down with her and Maya can insta pick up her ally so...yeah we ripped through enemies easily :p

Heroes is a decent starter place, as it is free.
It is however 'Freemium' which means you can purchase in app things but I'd avoid it personally. Even with the paid orbs there's no guarantee you'll get what you want to drop so just pray to the RNG gods.

You do get a few decent characters to start with with a choice between Ike, Lucina, Roy and Lyn all of whom are 5 star legends and will help you out lots in the early game.

Outside Heroes, I'd recommend Awakening if you have a 3DS which is very beginner friendly or by the sounds of things Three Houses which has been also made more starter friendly.

Avoid Fates. I've only heard bad things between the three different versions to choose from and the gameplay and story varying greatly in quality from version to version.
