Today was a great day. Spent the day with one of my best friends from college, who's celebrating his birthday. We played a lot of Smash and Mario Kart, and I filled up on pizza and cake. It was wonderful and the time also went by too fast. I also swam today and it got me real tired out.

On another note. Given the movie is out in a few weeks I decided to pre-order an Blu-Ray copy of Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) at one of my local movie stores at the mall. I now won't have to worry about copies being sold out the day it comes since its an day one grab for me.

Three down. One more to go.

*Eyes Godzilla vs. Kong (2020)*

The quadrilogy shall be complete soon enough.

Sakurai allows you to pick the last DLC character, but it can only be someone from one of the orginal 10 franchises in Smash 64. Who would you pick?

That's tough for me, because I really want a Gen 8 Pokemon (Zacian), but I also think Zelda could use another rep (Champion). A new Kirby character would be nice too (BWD).
Have to say Impa as my first pick, but I do think having the Champions would be cool, maybe if there was a way to switch between them (assuming they're together).

So apparently Blue Toad in 3D World (not sure about Super Mario Maker 2 considering Taskmaster, but definitely not the New Super Mario Bros. series) actually is the same as the Toad. I guess he was simply called "Toad" but I didn't notice.

They just gave him blue spots as a tribute to his sprite's appearance in Super Mario Bros. 2, at least according to the wiki, I dunno. The game's artwork always depicted him with red spots.

Gosh dang it. At least he's still the same Toad in that game, but this still bothers me, especially since Blue Toad in Super Mario Maker 2 probably isn't (the Mario wiki says he is, but only in the Toad (species) page while Toad's own page doesn't mention it, so I'm not sure if that's true) and he wasn't in NSMB...

maybe I care too much

Nice, i'm going to see Scary Stories this week. People in my class years ago were obsessed with the books so hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

There's a fair number of movies this year that interest me, but I usually wait until they come out for any kind of retail release to actually watch them.

My family and I just don't trust the "cleanliness" of theaters anymore.

So you're appalled when I do this?

I couldn't see the image, so I had to do some cyber sleuthing, by opening the broken image in a new tab, triangulate the position of the image using GPS satellites, extrapolating the data by getting help from the Pentagon, and extracting the original URL of the gif and going to the original link (I could have saved a step or two).

I was very proud of that. Until I went to reply to your message and could see the gif easily in the reply box...

Also, to answer your question, yes, no Poochy. But so gosh darn cute.

I saw the first Angry Birds. Okay flick but was like any typical children's animated film something I've seen before so I don't really except much from the sequel tbh as with Secret Life of Pets 2.

Abominable on the other hand seems more promising given creators of HTTYD are involved and which executed its tropes perfectly with the first film so I can see them surprising us again with this film.

It turns out this year, I'm more excited for the movies than the games. This year I was excited for Mario Maker 2 (had a decline, tho), and Banjo & Kazooie in Smash--thaaaaaaat's it. Whereas, I thought Endgame was... good, and I'm excited to see Child's Play, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Good Boys, It: Chapter 2, and Terminator: Dark Fate.

Was excited for Dark Phoenix until it was universally panned. I'm hoping it's an Apocalypse situation where I felt Civil War was overrated and Apocalypse was underrated.

And that concludes another one of my genuine thoughts that will most likely be considered a cynical hot take by everyone else. :chuckle:

im getting better with hero online but there a lot of close calls here and there

up tilt is a great anti-air and it comes faster than a lot of aerials. i killed a wolf with it just now, he was about to back air me to death but i caught him first.

the character im having trouble with the most is probably something like pikachu or palutena

edit: i've also been struggling against :ultridley: too, his buffs were really good.

Never forget that the Angry Birds movie exists like 5 years too late after no one gave a **** anymore. And now with the sequel that's like 8 years now.

Child's Play is definitely one of those better remakes and done right. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Endgame I thought was underwhelming and had mixed opinions on it. Infinity War was better which I thought was entertaining but very flawed. Spider-Man: Far From Home I thought were better films and was the Endgame I actually wanted especially in terms of action (Which the first two hours of Endgame lacked and was boring besides its third act and final battle) and an better conclusion to the Infinity Era of the MCU being pretty much an epilogue.

Didn't bother to watch Dark Phoenix given Fant4stic was involved and that film was doomed to begin with plus as far as I was concerned Fox's X-Men franchises concluded with Logan.

Not gonna see Terminator: Dark Fate because there doesn't need to be anymore of those as with Alien, Predator and many classic slasher films especially since all they do is repeat storyline elements from previous films rather then do anything new.

I was playing Smash with some friends and they picked a custom stage that was Sora's Keyblade. I happened to start the match inside the Keyblade's handle.

I literally had no way to attack or even get out so we had to quit the match.

Yeah, sorry, but every theater I've gone to in recent years hasn't exactly been the picture of clean. Mostly the theaters rooms themselves.

Doesn't help that we've seen more than a few moviegoers doing gross things beyond messy eating in recent years, too. Admittedly I'm less paranoid about it than the rest of my family, but I've never seen theaters (or at least the several we've been to) as remotely clean places and that image has kinda worsened over time.

What happened? Someone in your family got sick at the theaters?
What I said above, mainly.

Found the Link's Awakening Link by sheer coincidence on the Spirit Board, still no Owl.

I hope so, the trailer looks amazing. As for Engame...

I agree, Infinity War was way better than Endgame. Infinity War had the perfect balance of action, comedy and drama, something most MCU films fail with me. The comedy in Endgame was cringey as ****, especially that time travel baby thing (had no internal logic), and every Thor scene. I was hoping because of Infinity War, if they went with time travel, I had hoped they came up with something clever, rather than something derivative. Not only did they use every cliche in the book, it was very derivative, outside of the clever idea of having to return the stones right after getting them. The stone hunt was a terrible plot line, as things mostly go according to plan and there isn't this feeling of escalation by things falling apart. It was Cameo: the Movie--as someone who only sees 1 or 2 MCU films a year, I had not watched most of the films they go back to, which left me confused and bored during those scenes. As for the climax--personally, it had no effect on me. I'm not the biggest comic book fan, so I get no nostalgia of seeing all these characters together. There's a lot of pandering to seem woke on feminist/racial issues, but completely demotes Black Panther and Captain Marvel to the point where they were barely in it and if they were cut, wouldn't change anything regarding the plot. And it just comes down to a CGI fist fight, which bores me--I like more grittier and toned down climaxes, like the end of Infinity War, or the end of The Force Awakens. Where I can easily follow along and I can feel the emotional intensity--I felt nothing. Felt like there were no stakes, and the only emotional drama in the climax felt half assed and forced. That being said, the pacing was phenomenal and did not feel the films length. If anything, given how pointless the plot was, I was surprised seeing we were at the climax because I thought there'd be more leading up to it. The pacing and how the movie kept me interested throughout is why it's an ok movie, rather than a bad one.

As for Terminator, I disagree. Terminator was a great horror film, and Terminator 2 was a great action film (and in my top 10 films of all time). 3 was okay. The series really went downhill when it became a generic PG-13 blockbuster. But Dark Fate has a lot going for it--first R rated film since the third one, directed by Tim Miller, James Cameron appears to be more involved than his cringey thumbs up to Genisys (which does worry me a little), and the return of not only Arnold, but Linda Hamilton as well. They're doing everything right on a surface level, and the clips do really look good. They have the potential to do something different, as 1 to 2 showed--it's a matter of if they were able to do it.
