As I play Alpha sapphire I noticed that ever since drink vending machines were added to basically everywhere that its overall better to buy from them instead of buying potions. Soda being a super potion+1 and much cheaper always amused me.

Yeah, like regular soda price is 350, Weather Institute is 500 and Aqua/Magma hideout is 250. Strange but it does help, when you are not at the Weather Institute anyway.

Well Flash was demoted to TM a good long while ago and on top of that dark areas are easily navigated so it has no reason to even exist as a move anymore. But yeah Id agree with this.

Dfog isnt a HM thought?

Ironically Cut helped me sometimes; I was catching Azelf in Platinum, but I forgot my False Swiper; I used Cut to do minimal amounts of damage until reaching red.

Its a massive headache to deal with HMs to clear a path since you have to hunt for the pokemon that can even learn it in the first place and not only that you also have to deal with the HM permanently placed on your pokemon till you find the move deleter. I would much rather it go the path of Key items taking over the HM role as it leaves the retired HMs that are lackluster to be buffed or get new effects which would never happen if they stayed an HM.

Another idea is replacing HMs with Pokémon's natural characteristics
For example Strength: any Pokémon weighing more than 200lb. can move boulders
Surf: Any Water Type Pokémon taller than 1.5m can be rideable
Fly: Any Flying Type Pokémon can use it without using a moveslot

This changes are harder to apply (specially because they use the logic and Pokémon doesn't care about it lol) so I prefer using objects.
