wowow to this day it still amazes me
if anyone posts a smashfest/tourny noone really notices
but if luigi does it they're like "when?! where?!"

emerican lets team!!!!!
i don't want to team with luigi

also, if anyone wants to roll through the night before i'm down to house i suppose, i get out of work at 9

wow i should definitely be above fly. i see no real advantages he has over me against the top 5, plus not only can my sheik beat him but my peach consistently ***** him, and im sure he'll agree to it. his sheik does give my peach trouble, but his sheik vs my peach is nowhere near my peach vs his ic's.

I personally believe im closer to atlus/tofu level than P is, but i haven't really participated in singles after ucla V to prove anything. actually, i haven't seen any results from adam to prove himself top 5 either but w/e i'd of been happy with 6 and just proven myself at a tourny in the future.

edit: im above haze tho so all is good ^_^

Because beating someone one on one doesn't make you better than them...

and if we would've made tiers it would've been something like:

tier 1:

mango
lucky

tier 2:

atlus
tofu
P

tier 3:
the rest

in other words you are respectfully not close to tofu / P / atlus

Edit: I can only speak for myself but I answer this imaginary question when I rank the people:

Vs the skill of the rest of SoCal, including randoms and matchups in a tournament setting, who would win most often and most consistently?

The only argument on this list I see is Atlus over Tofu, but that's mainly because Atlus is amazing (and he's by far the best teammate on this list after Lucky and Mango imo).

but thats my opinion and you have yours

my real argument is, let's say fly plays you top 5
then i play you top 5
hell, even jose and the others from that first cal poly where he got 5th
then a one v one against me and him
i think overall id be ahead of him

btw im pretty sure every tourny match tofu and i have ever had has gone 3 games

and atlus narrowly beat me in game 3 last tourny

so lol @ me not close to them

but thats my opinion

my argument, based on the fact that i haven't really participated in a singles tourny since ucla v, is that i am glad i am even considered for the list but i am 100% sure i should be above fly. if you are 5th, im sure im closer to 6th than he is. although he is a talented player, im sure others will agree i am a better player than he is, and for him to be ranked higher than me saddens me

edit: kira is above fly and I, i demand a recount lol

I guesssssssss Ill make the thread. I only got two set ups so you guys gotta step it up with bringing more. And itll probably be in the garage like back in the day (for those who played back then) and might be colder than the SB venue lol. But if we get a small amount show up, it might be indoors.

And I think a Luigi's Version PR would be ****.

as i explained to adam last night, i think this would have been the best idea, considering "we only have one tournament a month, so people improve," and if that is the case, then we really should have just waited until the next one.

what is all this crap in trying to get the list perfect? we agreed last weekend after top 5 a lot of people are close and it's whatever. but i've come aroudn to the idea that a PR is pretty good for the community of melee, and i've seen random people besides marthpwnzer imply it does motivate them, so whatever,

and it sure sounds like from this thread it's motivating people, which is all that matters. top 5 don't need motivation.

the inaugural list is never gonna be accurate... but at least it's something before SD

edit: sixth sense, i don't know if you're serious or not -- doesn't matter -- but why do you think you can judge skill? what do you judge it by? who ***** you by more stock?
