Yeah Leon, it's a little sticky and rough right now (In before... anything), but tomorrow when I can sand it it'll come out so cleannnn.

i might actually do that

but i think oscar's idea is better
that's where the thread's going anyways,
since nobody cares about modded controllers really,
and since function > form,
and since everybody is gonna be too lazy to post pictures.

Let's hear it oskie

I like the click in shoulder buttons to be soft

So I usually take the clicky rubber things in the R button and tear it a little bit so it's less resistant to the push

my controllers red

you know who else has a red controller?

SS

Coincidence?

Maybe

Also the first red controller I owned had a funny texture to it, so for the next one I used a different paint that bonds to the plastic, and now it feels like a regular one.

ahhh my l trigger gets stiff, like as it does down, before the click, it feels like the button collides against the controller frame (or sticks against it) in such a way that I have to push a bit harder which builds up tension and makes it pop down.

it's kind of awkward and ****s up my timing a lot. it only does this sometimes, usually in high stress moments, which is the worst. I need a new one or figure out how to lube it up.

oh

basically my controller right now is the best controller i've ever had, and i love to talk about it all the time. i use the control stick to jump, and in the past all my controllers' control sticks would break after 6-8 months and i couldn't short hop anymore, but somehow this controller hasn't showed any signs of it in over a year, it's still solid.

a while ago i cleaned my controller (just opening it up and wiping off all the gunk with rubbing alcohol + qtips) and i modified my triggers a little bit. i opened up the L trigger, took out the spring and basically cut it in half with a set of pliers. this makes L canceling and running shield drops a lot easier because i barely have to touch the trigger and it registers. this also makes shielding and wavedashing a bit easier because when the spring is cut in half, there's less to go through when you get to the "click part"

besides my triggers, my stick is pretty much the best stick i've ever had. it feels exactly how i would want a stick to feel and it makes playing smash a lot more enjoyable. it's really sensitive without being "loose," as in the deadzone is still pretty much set in the middle. the biggest thing with this controller is that it requires so little effort to play as fast as i want to. with my spare controllers that have tight triggers and control sticks, i can usually play the same, but it requires like 20 times more effort, and it feels amazing to switch back to my regular controller because i can play super fast without focusing on it.

i love my controller

the problem is that if you are super neurotic and make yourself adjust to a perfectly customized controller for you, when it inevitably breaks you no longer have the ability to adapt to a normal controller and you become m2k

what the *** are u talking about

my whole point of the post was that i can play fine with a random new controller, but it takes a lot more effort when the triggers and stick are tight
and if my controller did break i would be fine with a different controller if i spent time to break in the stick

my controller is breaking but still the best i've ever had (if i hit the C stick to the right it will randomly register as up and ledgehopping requires a bit more focus or else i jump from the ledge)

it actually feels smaller than other controllers and the contours fit to my hand better. probably just used to the feeling but you'd think all controllers would be the same size

i'm interested to see what eggz cooked up for me, apparently he made me a controller that would fit my preferences

My controller is sky blue and chips at every tournament/smashfest I go to, no exceptions.

The innards have been the same for a while and are average I guess.

I've changed the shell twice and plan on changing it again once I find someone willing to paint a shell for ~ $15

i noticed that too, i think silver is thicker than others?

mines silver (which i didnt like at first) but i've compared it to other silver controllers so i'm pretty sure it's just me being used to it
