Okay, now that ESA4 is over SNY1 is now the next largest european tournament and it is only 6 weeks away. This is the point in which the major european players will start to book as the pressure is on to book and flights can look more appealing with sales etc.

Another majoy factor in getting mor europeans to book is a large host country turnout. I am expecting the UK to turn up to SNY en masse. This is the first time the UK will ever have had a tournament on this scale. Me and charles have put alot of work into this and are expecting you all to give us your backing and be there.

In case you are undecided here is some nifty reasons to come;

1. 3 days of smash if thats your thing.

2. 3 days of socialising with mates if thats your thing.

3. A smash tournament with beds.

4. Food served twice a day. No need to worry about how much you will spend or where the nearest shop is.

5. You can play the best in europe.

6. International crews are going to be huge. Come play/support the UK.

7. 50 tvs.

8. I am hosting it lol.

9. Its like a mini holiday ?!?! in the pretty hills outside of brum (its actually really nice not like brum lol).

10. We already have Armada booked and other top swedes (ivp/aniolas). Alot of italians, french, danish and germans are booked and more interested in doing so. Dutch are now shown a major interest with zgetto saying him, faab, adam and others are looking into making it :).

So, please start booking your tickets and pay the venue fee. I understand that it is more money than you usually pay at a UK tournament but this is a tournament on a completely different scale and for what you are getting is a very fair deal. On top of this, the venue I am providing for the price you pay (which is a similar price at other european tournaments) is much better than any other european venue ever.

Also, there are only 64 beds. So, if you want to get a bed I would book right now! Go to http://nintendoid.co.uk/smashbros/. You can also register and pay for floor space there aswell.

Look to get cheap coach tickets or trains to Birmingham for tuesday morning and leave late thursday evening. If you are struggling to get appropriate travel links i.e. times let me know and ill help or may offer housing if realy realy really needed.

------------------

For those that have offered to help running this your welcome to come sunday. Charles is coming that day aswell so that we can discuss running this. I am looking at alan, joe, will, ben, ant, george and anyone else willing to help. If anyone of those names just wants to come tuesday and leave thursday and not help out much then i completely understand :)

This is a beautiful post which has beautiful reasons to attend a beautiful tournament.

I'm definitely coming to this event and nothing is standing in my way, even death has stepped aside and any player in the UK who plays melee and is not even making an effort to come to this is just a silly billy.

I'm going to book this when I get the money as I don't have the money on my bank card, but I seem to remember Fuzzyness saying that he will book people as long as they give him the money which sounds pretty good to me.

Or I might just sign up on one of my crew members banks card and give them the money, either way it's getting done and im getting a bed cos im not sleeping on the floor and OOC are getting a room to themselves when we all book.

SOOO YEAHHH....im gonna be booking soon.

Also sorry for ****** at this tournament as this is what I will do.....I just want people to know that when I **** them it was nothing personal :(

Looks like we have me, charles, joe, yeniths, fortunecookie, blinky, lust, prof, craaiig booked from the UK so far. I am expecting alot more than this so lets get more people booked asap.

Also, need to start thinking about our starting 7 for international crews ^_^. Denmark/Germany/Sweden/Italy confirmed to have have teams for the event. Likely France and Holland will aswell. Hopefully we can get one more country booked fully so we can have an eight team bracket!

You should try to do it through Ricardo. We should be meeting up before GT3 anyway and he can do it for you with your bank card and create one for you.
And you should get a placement if you book it before GT3.

Warning, OOC will be getting a room to themselves......

Heya Ben that is great news. I was getting scared you wouldn't be about as you haven't posted much as of late. Anyone that is helping to run the event (be it small or large your role is upto you) is welcome to come to my place the sunday/monday before the tournament starts (tuesday). Thus, that offer is extended to yourself Ben ^_^

Charles has said that he has a spare coach ticket for SNY, since he booked for Gary and Gary is not coming anymore.

However, the catch is he is already taking the coach there lol. But he asked me to tell people that if anyone wants there is a return ticket available that leaves the day after SNY.

I need people to bring as many of the following as possible. Please appreciate I am doing my very best to put on the best tournament possible for 110 people. Understandbly I need your help aswell.

1. Gamecubes + Wiis. If you have more than on bring them. If each person in the UK brings their own cube/wii we will have enough setups per tv. If not WE DON'T.

2. Copies of melee. Please bring every copy of melee you have and/or your family and friends. More copies we have more than likely we will have enough setups running.

3. Powerpoints. Please bring any size powerpoints you have. 2 plug, 4 plug, 6 plug and 8 plug each. Doesn't matter how long or small they will come in useful. Most people use them in their rooms. If you are taken your setup to SNY you won't need them while your away. SO PLEASE BRING THEM.

4. TVS. Between me and Charles we have around 30 tvs at the moment. Please please please understand that it is paramount that the rest of the community help with this. It really isn't hard to put 2 small tvs in your car if you are getting a lift. Small tvs are fine. PLEASE BRING THEM.

5. Recording setups including handheld cameras/camcorders to get live footage of the tournament.

6. Microphones and amps. More the merrier.

7. Universal remotes. This is a huge must. Huge chances are most tvs don't have a remote. We need universal remotes to sort them out. More we have increases the chance of getting every tv working aswell as how quickly we get them working.

8. Does anyone have a projector screen that they can bring. Think friends/family and work. I have a projector but no screen. Also, any cables we may need for the projector (between setups/laptops etc).

9. Toilet Roll and Bin bags. I am seriously not joking here lol. Venue doesn't supply them. I encourage you to bring your own roll and bin bags you have lying around (give them to me please).

10. Scart Blocks

11. RF cables or ANY CABLE THAT GOES FROM THE BACK OF A CUBE/WII INTO AN AERIAL PORT.

ALSO THINK ABOUT BRINGING/DOING THE FOLLOWING

1. Deoderant
2. Shampoo
3. Towel
4. Toothpaste/Toothbrush
5. Sleeping bag/blanket
6. Pillow
7. Sticky labels on all your stuff
8. Getting my mobile number
9. Walking directions from google maps if you are getting into Longbridge station and I can't get you.
10. Printed bus details and walking directions if you are getting into Birmingham city centre and I can't get you.
11. Alcohol to chill and enjoy evening chatter. Not everyone will be geeking out in the gym hall with smash all night ;)
12. Toilet roll
Getting to the venue information

If you are arriving in Birmingham city centre;

You need to go to Birmingham New Street train station and get a train to Longbridge. Trains leave every ten minutes, take twenty minutes and cost £2.80.

If you arrive at Digbeth coach station you need to walk to Birmingham New Street train station.http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&s...=6.879233,26.279297&ie=UTF8&z=16&layer=c&pw=2

If you arrive at Priory Queensway coch station you need to walk to Birmingham New Street train station. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&s...95657&spn=0.006927,0.025663&z=15&layer=c&pw=2

When you get to Longbridge train station

1. Ring my mobile. If I am available I will come collect you. Drive is only 5 minutes. Please remember that I will be very busy tuesday.

2. Phone for a taxi (do this in advance of arriving at Londbridge. The train from Birmingham city centre is 20 mins so ring before getting train). Try; 0121 476 5252 , 0121 476 5252 and 0121 475 1234 . Remember to get a quote before booking. The venue is only five minutes away so it should be less than £5.

3. Walk. Directions are: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&s...n=0.006939,0.025663&ie=UTF8&z=13&layer=c&pw=2 Takes 30 mins.

When walking you will eventually come to a small roundabout with a pub on it. Turn right and the venue is there. Look at the website to see how the venue looks from the outside.
My address if anyone needs it: 33 Grange Road, Stourbridge, DY9 7LE.
My mobile is: 07982248134.

Also, for those getting into Longbridge and want a lift from me instead of walking please take note. Alot of people will be doing the same thing. Please be courteous and let me know BEFORE you get there like tell me when you are getting on the train to Longbridge or else you maybe waiting for some time.

Lastly, Brits if you want a lift from Longbridge instead of walking I expect you to bring cubes as part of the deal. If you don't post a valid reason you can walk.

I'm nabbing the return ticket from fuzzy + a brief apology for disrupting the housing. Either way he would've said no because he's a stubborn sod who wants things his own way.

This is just to let people know that I'll be arriving late on Tuesday at either half 9 or 10 depending on which train I manage to catch. See you all there
