Well....considering all the early Snake players helped develop what his meta game is today, the new snakes are jus playing off what's been laid out plain and obvious in front of them. All the guides 'n stuff are basically holding their hands and pointing them to the exact/most efficient way to do things ( Note that there are barely any random how-to questions asked here on the snake forums, all da essentials are in the stickiez.)...i guess that's what a good guide does...but surely early snakes did not find it as easy coming up with playstyle from scratch. I guess thats where the big learnin curve mentality comes from.^^^
Not really. There are tons of Snake players and he's currently ranked at the top. A lot of people are going to play him because he's just an all around good character and it probably going to be high if not top tier.
And the dash attack cancel really isn't hard at all. I did it on my first try and can do it consistently even though I don't main Snake. He doesn't require a lot of tech skill and mainly just takes smart playing. Compared to the learning curve on say Melee Ness or Melee Ice Climbers he's pathetically easy to learn. But in anycase who cares if you're on the "bandwagon" if you're winning?
On a side note on those melee examples..
-ness - DJC aerials and good spacing was all u needed. not hard.
- IC's - umm..wobble = cake...then its jus WD to grab/smash. Desynch to mix it up which was much easier than in brawl now.
top teirs = newbie magnets. They flock to them jus from a single video of pwnage or word of mouth. end of story. I know that weekly character discussion thread sure attracted some ppl. Please don't call me a hypocrite either, i picked snake of my own accord back before any hype.
