Just wondering if anybody who posts here is a smoker, cigs or weed or anything.

I used to smoke weed, quit that.

I used to smoke cigs, quit that, but bought a pack today. I'm trying to distract myself from certain thoughs. Hopefully I don't keep buying them.

I own a 3 hose hookah and smoke that on occasion. It's a social thing.

Smoking is bad and all but I enjoy the act of smoking, and it feels nice.

Sittin back and smokin with some friends is a nice way to kick back and relax. It's not the healthiest thing to do but i've always regarded weed as a great icebreaker, it really loosens me up and lets me just be me around ppl i don't really know well. I quit smokin for my gf, but it'll always be a great past time.

Cigarettes make you smell bad. And makes your co-workers hate you, because you always have to 'step out real quick'.

If you're going to smoke anything, smoke hookah. It's a lot less unhealthy, and those that don't smoke don't mind the smell.

I don't care that you smoke, I'm just saying don't smoke smelly stuff in front of non-smokers.

I smoked Hookah once.

Have you really tried? Yes, it seems hard and the easy route would be to just rely on smoking. But just like athletics or singing or learning it takes work. Try applying yourself, it'll do wonders.

I'll have the occasional cigar, but I'm not a regular smoker by any means.

Even I hate the way I smell afterwards, so I'm strongly motivated not to make a regular habit of it.

GTFO and stop telling them what to do. It's their choice, and, as forward said, this is not a thread for non-smokers to tell smokers what to do. I'm sure he doesn't have to smoke when he's meeting new people, but he chooses to do so.

lol, yes i try. I have a much easier time with ppl i can relate to in some way (like through smash), but when i no nothing about them it gives me a harder time. You seem to be under the impression that I always smoke when I meet new ppl, well, I don't. I quit a while ago. But lets leave me and my social skills out of this, this is for smoke talk.

Just like you guys have your pet peeves, this side of the argument has ours. Like when you get all defensive when someone is just trying to have conversation. I never told him to do anything. Please point out where I said "You better stop smoking by the laws of my church and by the authority of God I command you to stop." Oh, you won't be able to because I never said such things.

Sorry to tell you but arguments usually consists of two opinions. He believes that for some people it is a requirement to use smoking to make friends, I believe otherwise. By making lame requirements of engagement like restricting the other side of the argument from expressing their opinion. Either way, I wasn't telling him what to do.

i never said it was a requirement though. Not for me or anybody. All I mean is if your shy then it helps loosen you up a bit and lets you be a little more open. That's all.

This is odd, but I LOVE cigarette smoke. It's intoxicating almost. I used to hate it when I was little but became used to it because my dad was addicted and would carry the scent around. That said, I'm never, ever going to smoke for obvious health issues. Cigarette smoke is like the smell of nice perfume. I'll breathe deeply as I walk by it, but I wont purchase or try it.

Edit: I'm not one of those people who second hand smoke all the time. It's been months since I've had even the slightest wiff of a cigarette. (I dont get out much)

I have stopped both. Weed really messes with my head now (bipolar). I still have the occasional cancer stick though. Kind of a mental placebo to calm me down.

I am not a smoker. When I was younger, for curiosity's sake, I tried a puff of my father's pipe and thought it was horrible. My father, on the other hand, got addicted to cigarettes at the ripe age of eight; way to go Dad.

I also disdain the smell of tobacco, but that may just be from the fact that a lot of people I don't like smoke.

By the way, I don't smoke at all. It holds no appeal for me. I don't mind if other people smoke, as long as they're not doing it in a confined space around other people. If someone just decides to light up a cigerette while I'm in the car with them, that really pisses me off.

I'm bipolar, weed is actually kinda nice for me.

I smoke maybe four or five times a week (marijuana) and smoke a pack a day.

But I'm quitting both soon.

The smell of cigarettes really depends on what kind people are smoking.

A menthol cigarette (Newports, Marlboro Menthols, Kools, Salems) smell terrible to me. They make me feel sick. I smoke Lucky Strike unfiltereds (WWII cigarettes), and they seem to smell pretty good, almost like coffee mixed with choco sometimes. Then there are the really cheap cigarettes (Generic Brands, Smoker's Choice) which smell terrible to everyone. To me, Winstons, American Spirits, and to a much lesser degree Marlboro Reds and Kamel Reds smell kinda bad. Most people smoke Marlboros, Kamels, or Newports, from what I know, so I can understand why a lot of people think smoke smells bad.

Im not definatly proud of it but I don't mind admitting I smoke up every once in a while. Hate ciggs though, tried em a couple of times and hated it even more every time ^_^.

Fun Fact: Lucky Strikes were the American soldier's cigarette of choice during World War II, and were smoked backwards to burn the Lucky Strike insignia so that Nazis would not be able to track their movements.

I stopped smoking weed in march after regulary smoking for a whole year. The reason why I suddently stopped is because someone put something in the weed that made me feel really ****ing bad... I was even allucinating and the allutinations weren't cool.

I used to smoke cigarets for 6 months but stopped because I though it was just lame. Now I smoke only when I am really drunk, which is like once every 3 weeks...

Thecheat, when did I ask for your opinion on cigarettes? If you're including weed as well in your statement of "smoking is gay," well then I'm going to have to jump in and disagree. Either way, the whole "addicts just don't have the nerve to quit" thing is wrong.

Smoking is gay: false. Lots of straight people smoke weed, for many things. Some do it for fun. For occasional weed smokers, it's about 10 bucks (about the cost of a movie) for 2/3 hours of fun. Most people enjoy weed smoking, and the effect on lungs is truly minimal.

Addicts don't have the nerve to quit: Also wrong. My parents have smoked in front of me and on me since I was an infant, and there's absolutely no way to get around it. They may not have had the nerve, but I didn't really have a choice.
