(S) He's always sweating in fear and his job involves lots of physical labour like his brother.

Luigi - (S - N)

Luigi, when not working with his Bro, would smell better than Mario. Luigi has been seen doing laundry too, so on a given day, Luigi could smell like his brother, Mario, or a much more neutral scent.

Luigi strikes me as someone paranoid about leaving a good impression so he probably smells a little too good. He probably overdoes it on deodorant and cologne. He also strikes me as someone who sweats a lot when he's nervous, adding yet another reason why he does this.

I see Luigi as a potential nervous-try-hard when it comes to hygiene. Although he'd smell similar to Mario at times, I can see him being "that guy" who puts an excessive amount of deodorant on (think of the kids when you went to high school who would spray themselves with Axe between classes). When not plumbing or eating lot'sa spaghetti, I'm sure he would smell of dust from searching in old mansions.

Overall, I'd say (N).

i'd say, seeing ho luigi sweats in just is artwork alone, and how scared he is (probably smells like urine) proves that he is smelly (S)

This blonde w**** smells like wet p***** from getting f***** so many times via drag queens.

She bathes in the virgin blood of all the players that main him.

Peach also ***** cats, dogs, phone books and princess low tier Zelda. Giving her a raunchy scent.

Peach smell like royalty and flowers.
In most modern mario games princess peaches castle usually is shown to have showers.
Peaches dress actually has the peachy smell.

I would imagine Peach to smell like a mix of different fruits. She smells like, strawberries, apples, grapes and of course, peaches. Peach also probably puts on a lot of makeup so she would probably be wearing perfume most of the time which would add to her great smell.

Peach is very (SG), with scents of peaches, flowers, strawberries, and other lovely things.

I'm guessing her perfume is cinnamon-scented. As far as aroma in the Mario world, most of the flowers are Fire Flowers which have to add spice to their perfumes and incenses.

Peach - (SG)

Peach, is a princess, and in order to keep her feminine aura, she uses many perfumes. She is royalty, and therefore can also afford many expensive incenses and makeup. Peach probably chooses a fruit-scent, with a touch of a spicy smell. In other words, Peach smells like she looks, pretty.

Peach - (N)

I would agree that she smells like peaches (her Final Smash indicates that her namesake is not coincidental) and other baked goods; She is always baking cakes (and eating cakes), so she probably smells quite a bit like a bakery. Plus she is a princess, which involves a lot of grooming and good hygeine. So she would be a very sweet smelling character.

...Whenever she is in her castle, which seems to be about 50% of the time. The rest of the time she is held hostage by Bowser, who usually keeps her in a cage or small room inside his giant lava-filled castle, usually adjacent to his lava-filled throne room. You think the Mario Bros are sweaty? Try spending a whole adventure locked in a boiling sauna in your dirty clothes. By the time they get to Peach, she certainly is not smelling like a sweet fruit.

Peach may very well be the most pleasant-smelling character in Smash. When she's sitting at home, she's probably being catered to like no tomorrow. On top of that, she also has a fondness of baking cakes for Mario, if I'm not mistaken. Even when she's kidnapped, she's not exerting herself through some escape attempt. At the very worst, she's sitting around Bowser's castle in need of a shower. Compare that to other characters who are getting their hands dirty. SG

Toon Link smells like the briny seabreeze. Toon Link lives by the sea, but not on the sea. So he doesn't stink like a pirate.

Toon Link smells good, like a nice ocean breeze.

The above two say it nicely, but I feel that's a more neutral smell than a super good smell.

Little kids are usually smelly little buggers but Toon Link's at that age that he'd at least be aware of his personal hygiene (but it's debatable how much he'd actually care). He's out sailing for days on end (even in pouring rain) and often deals with gunpowder. I imagine Toon Link would be a mix of a lot strong smells but nothing completely noxious. Gunpowder, brine, and maybe fish.

Toon Link lives on a small island, and smells like where he's from, a briny, sea-salt smell. While he's only 12, and may not have the greatest hygiene, his clothing never appears worn-out or faded. This is strange, as most clothing worn over long periods of time on the sea appear this way. We can now assume that the Outset Islanders have perfected the art of durable clothing.

Like Link, TL would smell of gunpowder, with a strong scent of sea breeze, perhaps island sand, and maybe a touch of a natural scent. About as strong of a neutral as one can get.

Sonic - (S- N)

Sonic, although exposed to lava, ica, and grass, never really leaves a scent, or even stay in one place for long enough. He may smell like Chili Dogs, with burnt rubber and sweat, but Sonic doesn't wear clothes, so he may not really hold any smells. His shoes, however, may hold the most UNHOLY of smells... the funk of a thousand years.

Thank you, thank you! :]

Sonic, I suspect, would carry little distinct scent from other places since he speeds through them and never lingers long enough to pick up a smell. Maybe he smells like the most recent zone he was in; the smell of pollution from his factory zones isn't hard to imagine.

Sonic smells like grass, his homeland. The aroma of chili and pork emanates from his mouth, but mainly he smells of burnt rubber and sweat, due to his fast speed. He isn't the best-smelling character, but the combined smell of grass and rubber prevent him from being Mario stench.

Probably somewhere between N-S depending on the circumstances.

He runs alot, and I mean alot. So sweat might be a concern but considering how active most of the Smash characters are, I'd say just sweat is actually normal. If it's possible though, he'd also have this slight wind (Not the fart kind of wind :p) about him. He might smell like oil and shattered metal if he just got done with going through a level with enemies and/or defeated Robotnik/Eggman. In all honesty though, Sonic's probably more Neutral then Stinky even if he has a diet of Chili Dogs. He won't smell as good as the Princesses that's for sure. But he certainly isn't going to smell as bad as say Wario.

Sonic himself probably carries a neutral scent. He hardly ever stops, so it may be hard to actually get a whiff of him.

His shoes, though, probably carry the most godawful, gut-wrenching stench ever. Have you ever seen him without shoes on?

Okay, hold up on your analyses, everyone.
Why the heck does everyone contribute that a physically active character would sweat?
We're not supposed to assume they're all normal, are we? I, for one, don't think people like Sonic sweat. If they don't have to obey numerous laws already, why would they have body odor?
He just wouldn't in my estimation.
Unless it's canonically demonstrated that said character sweats in their day-to-day operation on a regular basis for the assumption of the statistical average we're using for how a character smells, I don't see a justification for saying 'he runs alot therefore he sweats' or even 'his shoes stank yo'.
Oh well. For the sake of argument I'm going to say we can assume the smells of the environment accurately. Heh, I guess I'm just sick of everyone pointing to BO for inspiration. As for Sonic, I think he would smell like whatever he's been rolling around in last, which is on average an earthy/metallic/grassy thing, or gold with all those RANGS he carries around. Perhaps his breath would hint at the last chili dog he ate? Neutral.

I would say that Sonic carries little smells on his body because the speed helps him remove odors, but when he takes off his shoes, then you better be prepared to run faster than him...

He has been seen sweating... But you know, this is just the Anime.

For that matter, we may have to redo Mario & Luigi if we're not counting sweat.... after all, we are just assuming that they do..

You have a good point.

So, should we look for canonical examples of Mario and Luigi sweating? If we don't find any, I guess we can assume that they do, as they are humans. (AS FAR AS WE KNOW)

Dun dun dun....

Not just a few examples, sir!
I mean that they must be demonstrated to sweat in their average operation to warrant the claim, and I almost expected one such as yourself to find that classic anime nervous sweat bead thingie :3
Or, have enough examples of those situations where they do exert that extra effort or get scared or stuff (as is frequently the case with, say, Luigi) to where the stank would be warranted.

As for Marth. . . I'm sure that the spiffy outfit we commonly see him in is a clear indication of his hygiene as a prince, heck, he even supported with the female avatar in SD where she walked in on him in the bath!
He's got to SG by virtue of being a massive hunk that's easy to fangirl over. . . er. . . uh. . . I mean, yeah, he's totally clean and stuff, I'm sure his wife keeps him. . . lotionized and smelling good?

He would probably smell like a bunch of hair care products, lotion and a bunch of thing to make yourself look/smell good. He may also smell a bit like blood and sweat because he has fought in a lot of wars. so overall (N)

Marth is royalty, and therefore keep his appearance up. He most likely smells a clean, refreshing scent. However, Marth is also known for his combat prowess, and also would come into contact with blood, sweat, and mud/filth. Granted he may clean often (he does look feminine, It's a Japanese thing) his line of work may neutralize the care, creating a neutral smell. Soap and Blood my friends.

EDIT: Thanks for the whole "Funk of a 1000 years" in the Sonic OP, Bane84. That made me laugh.

Well, since it's not too late...

I think it's pretty obvious what Marth is. Being a royal prince and the resident pretty boy, Marth has to uphold a good image. He probably has several servants that help him keep cleaned up, too. Marth is a solid SG, he wouldn't have his "fabulous" reputation if he was anything lower.

Given Hyrule's basis in medieval history, even royalty didn't have very good hygiene available; so Zelda, pretty as her polygons may be, is probably less pleasing to the nostrils.

Unless, somehow, Hylian nobility uses magic to forever repel toxins, oils, pests and that sort.
