Personally-- I have Mewtwo vs Falco Melee memories back when Mewtwo was my main and a friend's main was Falco.

But I do want to give the roster a fair shot, so I'll analyze all of them in a bit.

Voted for TheZombiePig because I think Mewtwo should have returned, Star Fox should have three characters, and Ganon should have been replaced with Dorf or at least gained him as a transformation.

Smasher 101: Least interesting choices, but makes the most logical sense for a roster of the 4.
+Nobody else has Starfy
+Mach Rider
-Starfy and Mach Rider are the only new characters
+Roster is very logical and makes sense
-Roster is very safe and nothing on it particularly catches my eye as a neat addition that isn't on every roster
(I love Palutena and Lip, but everybody has them, so I'm not looking at them)
- Toon Link (personal bias against him/ so many superior choices/ no character needs to be on the roster twice/ clone of a clone)

o Roster balances out to a 0

The Light: I hope you finally get to add Micaiah
+Donbe and Hikari
+Skull Kid
+Chibi Robo
-No Lucario

+ Roster results in a 2
(I almost put as a negative that you didn't have Wario, but I found him )

Zombie Pig: Roster makes some sense from a perspective that there are no transformation characters (meaning- it explains the lack of certain veterans and Impa), but I see better options for taking this route (such as Falco and Mewtwo over Balloon Fighter or Excitebiker or Andy or Dillon-- they should have been higher priorities IMO)
+Zelda Roster includes the 4 most iconic characters of the series, something Sakurai could only accomplish half-way
+Anna
+The only roster other than mine that includes Takamaru?!
-Other than him and Lip, which everybody has, the retro picks do not interest me
-No Mewtwo (iconic, popular veteran)
-No Falco (iconic, popular veteran)
-I prefer the air to have transformations, I've always loved transformation characters

Voting ZombiePig, there were more things I liked here compared to Smasher 101's, but the negatives outweighed the positives.

I think I'm gonna have too vote for Zombie Pig because he has 3 metroid reps, and he doesn't have 3 Fire Emblem or Starfox, and one could have happened if he put ZSS with Samus. Sorry man.

And yeah @ andimidna I really hope I get to add Micaiah too. (Maybe top 2 if I get there?)

Also, I have two graduation parties this weekend (mine is tomorrow, and my two best friends (twins) is on Sunday. I should be able to post a roster Sunday afternoon, but if I'm not can you give me until Monday?)

I'm pretty sure I'm also the only one with Wii Fit Trainer, Mach Rider, and Toon Link...in fact I think I actually have the most characters unique to my roster, but I could have missed something.

I wasn't looking at characters already in Smash, but I did miss Mach Rider.

I was looking at non-Smash newcomers to each roster, to add to finding out how safe everybody was playing.
Different veterans are even more safe than new characters already on other rosters IMO.
Being safe isn't enough for me to vote for a roster, but I've noticed this for the past 5-7 rounds, so I brought it up.

No transformations anymore!
So this hasn't worked out very well in the past for others, but hey, it's the final 3, we all did good enough.
I'm pretty much expecting to leave at this point, but eh, I'll try it.

Zelda- on her own
Impa- takes some of Sheik's moves and adds a few magic and sword attacks-- has been in 8x more games than Sheik-- is actually the one who taught Sheik her moves (probably)... this was for representation purposes, hyrule warriors hype, and keeping my roster dissimilar to others'-- I still love Sheik more don't worry
Samus- on her own
Zero Suit- didn't replace her, if I did, it would have just been Dark Samus or nobody, the first is also another Samus that's actually more similar to Samus and the 2nd means Metroid gets only 2 reps which is bad when I'm giving that to Kid Icarus and giving more to Fire Emblem and Starfox
Charizard- on his own
Greninja- on his own
Mach Rider- Now I have 3 out of my 5 favorite retros. I just thought he was more deserving than Hikari and Donbe and Ayumi. I would honestly prefer to have Hikari and Donbe on my roster, but I like Mach Rider almost equally, and I think he represents a bit more, despite the team being more unique even with Ice Climbers on the roster. Overall, I think both are positive additions on any roster-- I just had to choose because I couldn't have both
Wii Fit Trainer- I was excited to finally add her until I realized now everybody has her... oh well. I still think she should be here for what she represents and dat moveset.

Impa might be the death of me. But c'mon, you guys gotta love that Hyrule Warriors look, right?

PS the design choice shouldn't affect the roster as in "voted because that Impa design is not 100% nintendo"
I'm bringing this up because people voted for ZombiePig yesterday for having OoT Ganon, and while that's a bit different because it's not the Classic Ganon that has a reason to be on a roster, it's name is Ganon, and that's what matters. Base votes off character choices and representation balance... that sort of thing. Not design choices.

I'm really happy to have made it the final three, no matter what happens I'm satisfied with my placing. Congrats to the other two for making it to this far as well.

Bowser Jr. may be my downfall, but I wanted a couple more unique choices, and the other two already added Toad.

Sorry but I went with Smasher101. He has only four Zelda characters, and one is Toon Link. He also has Starfy and Ray who I don't really care for. I like Andimidna's characters just a bit better.

Yeah I considered another Zelda, but I wasn't truly convinced it needs five. Thinking about it a little more I suppose I should have added Vaati over Ray, but ah well. What's done is done.

Anyway my thoughts on the other two rosters:

This was a really tough decision...but I voted for andimidna. The lack of Ike was something I liked less than Masked Link, and I think Andy alone is more deserving than Saki and Mach combined.

But I'm not the only one with another Link. Smasher101 has two Links and only four characters. That's why I'm surprised that people are voting over my Zelda reps, because as Zombiepig said, I thought mine were stronger.

Skull kid is pretty weak, though that's my opinion,
Though the main difference here is that toon link has a following, being in brawl made a lot of people cherish the guy, dispite being a clone, he's pretty much the only link which can get away with being a second link. Mask link has a barely noticeable following, and for good reasoning no one wants a third link, despite the masks, no one wants another in, so hes generally hated.
And why is 4 zelda characters bad, many like the triforce trio + tink and sheik, and there's nothing wrong with transformations either, there's no golden rule that zelda has to have someone else with it, only having 4 isn't a bad decision, especially only at 50 slots

To tell you the truth, when we first started with 20, I thought I'd be lucky to make it to the top ten.

I didn't get to post an in-depth explanation because I was exhausted. The full reason is because Masked Link and Skull Kid. That's overreping Majora's Mask if I've ever seen it.

Looks like it's impossible to make a Zelda roster that everybody agrees on.
Some say Skull Kid is positive, some say Skull Kid is negative.
Some say a 2nd Link is positive, some say a 2nd Link is negative.
Some say Impa is positive, some say Impa is negative.
Some say 4 Zelda reps is fine, some say it's too few.

Agh. This is going to be a tough part to choose for next round, but I've got an idea that might be able to make everybody happy...

Looks like the only reason I got a vote is no Ike. Meh, alright.
There are more interesting, unique, and recurring choices that were in games with better sales. But he's popular so... fine.

Hmm... while I'm here I might as well vote. The results look pretty set in stone already, so my vote won't make any difference, but I'll still go for it.

I dislike both Masked Link and Toon Link. I guess Masked Link is a bit more positive because he could have a very unique moveset. I understand Toon Link is important, but I just dislike the idea of 2 Links altogether. Well, looks like I'll have to get over that for my next roster :/
Anyways, Light wins Zelda because Skull Kid is better than nothing. Five Zelda characters on this size roster isn't a must, but it's better.

Both added Meowth. Eh. Ok, he's somewhat important. Used to be a bigger deal, but he's still somewhat prominent. Ok. Positive.
Light wins Pokemon for the Trainer. Sceptile and Greninja are life.

Toad and Bowser Jr are both positive IMO. Same with Rosalina. They are the 3 Mario characters I can agree with as a 5th. Oh, and Paper Mario too if he represents Mario. Toad is more important, Bowser Jr is more interesting.
Mario is equal.
