Personally, I think this is turning out pretty well so far! A pretty solid character roster and track selection, not to mention we have an actual damn battle mode this time! With that being said, we're now moving on to...

Job #5: DLC Roadmap​

The roadmap that I have in mind is simple:

• 6 characters
  • Link (Wave 1)

• 4 cups (each with 4 tracks)

• A handful of vehicles, tires and gliders relevant to each DLC character

For now, we're just going to share our hypothetical roadmaps.

I think since the real 8 dabbled with non-Mario content in the game, we could spread that out a little bit more.

Zelda and Animal Crossing already got characters, and I’d be okay with adding Pikmin and F-Zero to that lineup.

So if I could see a general visualisation of what I’d be looking at:

• 6 characters (split into two sets)

  • Olimar (Set 1)

Job #7: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe​

Since the original game was given a second chance on the Switch in canon, let's do the same here. We're going to add the following new content:

• 4 new racers
• 2 new battle maps
• A 6th Battle Mode

No new proper race courses packaged into this port, however. But that's in relation to another project I'm brainstorming. For now, just submit the above. For me:

And with that, this creation thread is currently going on hiatus...because this week, I'm going to start a re-creation thread of Mario Kart Tour! In the meantime, how do you feel about the re-creation of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as is? Personally, I wish we could've added a Splatoon-themed battle map, but that's my only complaint!

Something about the retro track selection bugs me. It suffers from the same problem a lot of other track selections people do and it’s the weird difficulty curve.

Why is Sunset Wilds in the Shell Cup? Why is Grumble Volcano in the Banana Cup?

On another note, the Mario Kart Tour thread has been dead for a week now. There seems to be a lack of interest. Maybe it’s because it’s too different from what we know about Tour. Or the fact it’s just Mario Kart Tour.

Maybe if enough time passes, we could just call it quits on the Tour thread, use what the real Tour did, and proceed with the Booster Course Pass course selection from there.
