After looking back on my Melee thread as well as the Next Smash thread, I decided to ponder the idea of Ultimate getting another year of development as well.

A few ground rules:
  1. "Everyone is Here!" is still a thing, so we can't replace any of the fighters who appeared in previous games
  2. Inkling will still be the first newcomer revealed in trailers
  3. Depending on what kind of job we do, that job will have its own set of rules
  4. The base roster will cap at Fighers #71-75 plus some extra Echo Fighters

My Shadow moveset
Intro: Shadow Chaos Controls onto the stage

Stance/Idle 1: Shadow stands around with his arms folded
Idle 2: Shadow occasionally glares towards the camera
Idle 3: Shadow occasionally glares to the background

Notable Palette Swaps:
  1. Shadow the Hedgehog (default)
  2. Multiplayer alt 1 (yellow)

Grab Game
Grab: Shadow grabs the opponent in the chest
Pummel: Shadow punches the opponent with his open hand (2%)
Forwards+Throw: Shadow simply tosses the opponent (9%, OK knockback)
Down+Throw: Double Spin; Sonic pins the opponent on the ground and Spin Dashes into them multiple times (12%, OK knockback)
Back+Throw: Shadow teleports behind the opponent and kicks them from behind (11%, OK knockback)
Up+Throw: Hedgehog Needle: Sonic heaves the opponent upwards before stabbing them with his quills (14%, OK knockback)

Special Moves
B : Homing Attack; Shadow curls into a ball and homes in on the nearest opponent.
  • Tapping B has Shadow home in instantly (10%, OK knockback)
  • Holding B has Shadow charge up before homing and following up with a 3-hit combo (16%, OK knockback)
B + Forwards : Chaos Spear; Shadow throws a Chaos Spear that can be tilted in the same direction as the control stick (12%, OK knockback)
B + Up : Chaos Control; Shadow teleports in the direction titled on the control stick.
B + Down : Chaos Blast; Shadow charges an explosive Spin Dash that explodes in a large area upon contact (20%, medium knockback); the charge cancels if the button is let go, but Shadow still performs a single-hit Spin Dash (12%, OK knockback)

Final Smash: Chaos Inferno; Shadow uses Chaos Control to slow down time. Rouge and Omega appear to attack opponents; Rouge tags the opponent for Omega to gun down (45% each, devastating knockback)

Gimmick: Echo Fighter of Sonic

1: “I’m the Ultimate Life-form.” Shadow loosely mimics his pose from Sonic 06
2: “How pathetic.” Shadow tosses a Chaos Emerald up and down before putting it back

1: “Anyone who gets in my way is my enemy.” Shadow loosely mimics his pose from Shadow the Hedgehog’s box art

Not sure if this would be too much but imagine a basic stage with one pass through platform on each side. Hazard would be quiz questions given by Gruntilda who would cause an eruption to the side affiliated with the incorrect answer similar to Norfair.

Octo Canyon

Big base platform with several surrounding hazards based on different objects from the campaign

For stages I say Everywhere is Here. Ultimate was so close so with more dev. time & a couple reworks for certain gimmicks i think why not?

In terms of old returning stages, Im going in with the mentality that we will have the same old stages as Smash Ultimate already. So that is including all 99 stages that are in Ultimate already.

In terms of new returning stages, I am going to go with Meta Crystal, Poke Floats, Woolly World, Rainbow Road, and Pac Maze. Just taking a few fan favorites that did not make the cut and putting those in as well.

As for stages for Inkling and Banjo, Moray Towers and Spiral Mountain are fine as is imo. Maybe I would change Spiral Mountain's base angle so that it is more usable for hazards off, but I think both are fine.
