Job #5: Four New Mario stages​

Nearly every game since Melee has had three or four new Mario stages, because let's be real-with how big Mario is in general, there's so many options it's not even funny. For this job, we're going to be dividing the stages into these sections:

• A stage from Mario Odyssey
• A general Mario stage
• A Mario Kart stage
• A Mario spin-off stage

These are the types of stages we'll be submitting. Here are my submissions:

Basically from a game released between March 2017-March 2018, and the character has to specifically be 1st party. My submission:

Sakurai did consider a character from Xenoblade 2 for the base game, and the only reason it didn't happen was due to timing. With the extra year we're alotting here, I figured we would at least be able to get the Aegis girls here this time.

Job #7: Submit a stage from Xenoblade Chronicles 2​

I'm sure some people are going to submit (or at least vote for) the Cloud Sea of Alrest and that's fine, but I figured I would submit a different take on it. This is quoted from a stage contest from way long ago.

Gramps’ Back

(Xenoblade Chronicles II)

First off, I apologize for my art here… It’s not amazing lol.


Anyhoo, one of the most memorable parts of the beginning of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is riding around on the back of a titan which Rex refers to as “Gramps.” Rex is a salvager and he likes to spend his days with Gramps, fly-swimming through the Cloud Sea, searching for salvage.


The stage is relatively simple, with an incline to the left side going up Gramps’ neck, as well as an additional platform as Rex’s little wooden house on the back. On the right side is a crane that extends over the cloud sea. The crane’s neck is drop-thruable. The crane holds a platform as well that you can stand on! But… Campers beware, for tactically-minded folks might notice a big box with a large red button on it near the crane…

Robin drops the crane into the cloud sea to look for salvage! And Shulk is gone with it, getting KO’d! Generally, the cloud sea is something you can swim in, but with the velocity the crane goes down with, it just carries you to the depths.


Quick thinkers can jump into the sea before the crane goes down though , but they’re gonna want to get back into position when the crane comes back up or they might drown.


When the crane comes back up, it’ll turn around and dump all cargo into the middle of the stage.

“You’re mine now, Shulk!”

And then the crane moves back around to the backside, leaving the treasure behind.


There’s not a lot else of import here, it’s but a simple salvaging area for Rex and his Gramps!

I'm going to be blunt...I don't like the Cloud Sea of Alrest as it appears in canon. But I do like Pokémon, so...

That character you always get a laugh out of for whatever reason. The one I chose was one I figured could get a more unique moveset with the extra year.

Stage 9: Alola Tour. Basically you tour through Alola, and encounter a few Pokémon. You tour through the city, beach, ocean and highways. In the ocean, you ride a Wailord, until you get to your destination. It’s a moving stage.

As for the wacky character, I‘m working on it.
