Reveal trailer:
Start with Sega's strange eye teaser.
We open on Sonic facing off with Dr. Eggman on Green Hill zone. Eggman fires a barrage of rockets which explode behind Sonic as he runs. Sonic homes in on one missile, knocking it flying. The missile goes out of control, blowing a mountainside up.
We see Sonic land, with the large boulder falling just above him. Before the rock crushes Sonic we see a flash of red leaping off a cliff face and with a mighty punch destroys the boulder in one hit, as stones fall around Sonic. We see a red arm punch fast, zooming out to reveal Alex Kidd.
Alex Kidd throws a punch towards Sonic unleashing a power bracelet blast which Sonic leaps over, and spindashes towards Alex. Eggman, seeing his opportunity launches another missile barrage at the pair. Sonic spindashes into Alex knocking him out the way of the explosion, before turning to a frustrated Eggman who fires one last missile. Sonic sprints forwards towards it, dodging deftly to the side as we see it pass in slow motion. Sonic glances at it surprised as he does as the missile is revealed to be Opa-Opa who rockets past and straight into Alex Kidd.
We change over to gameplay footage of Sonic, Eggman, Alex Kidd and Opa-Opa engaging in a four way battle, showcasing some of their special moves, before swapping back to a CGI scene with Opa-Opa rocketing past and filling the screen with blue light.
The blue light transitions into Kiryu's heat aura as he faces off with Akira Yuki at the Shrine, the two men trading blows as they clash furiously.
We cut to gameplay of the pair showcasing their individual moves and abilities against one another, before cutting to them trading blows once again in CGI.
Suddenly just as they're about to hit one another it slows down as Bayonetta's Witch time kicks in and we see her facing off against Sakura Shinguji. Sakura blocks Bayonetta's shots with her sword whilst slicing back at the Umbra Witch who just seems to be having the time of her life in this match. We see gameplay footage of the two which has Sakura get the upper hand. Bayonetta smiles and summons forth her assist, which has Enzo appear with present boxes, reaching in and grabbing a Seaman, which Bayonetta proceeds to smack Sakura around the face with. We then see Sakura summon her own assist, Big the Cat in this case to fish Bayonetta over and perform a body slam.
"Welcome to the next level" appears on screen as we cut to a montage of Sonic, Eggman, Alex Kidd, Opa-Opa, Akira, Kiryu, Bayonetta and Sakura's All Star moves.
"Battle of AGES" appears on screen, alongside an estimated date of release and the platforms it'll appear on.
We fade out to You Arcade where we see Alex Kidd and Kiryu playing on the various arcade machines whilst a familiar young man in a brown jacket is at a capsule toy machine. He twists and we see a capsule toy pop out revealing the collectables. "Maybe I should get another..." Ryo Hazuki utters as we see a collection of various capsule toys, before witnessing his All Star move used against both Alex and Kiryu as the final scene.
And by quite a landslide (twice as many points as the runner-up!!!!!), the planes from After Burner will be our next assist!!!! To be completely honest, I think I'd rather have had a stage, but hey, as long as After Burner is repped somehow......
Anyway the other stuff we're doing will keep going on for some more time
Unfortunately I'm not super knowledgeable on any of the Atlus properties or Yakuza so I'll contribute the one character I think is missing to Virtua Fighter:
Originally appearing in an early prototype for Virtua Fighter, Siba was eventually replaced in the final lineup by future face of the series, Akira Yuki.
However all was not lost for the bouncer from Saudi Arabia, as he was brought back for Fighters Megamix where he made his official debut, using his scimitar to great effect against the man who replaced him, the Virtua Fighter cast as well as a whole host of other bizarre fighters.
We already got three trailers submitted, but I wanted to throw my hat into the ring because I thought it'd be fun. I'm writing this under the impression that this is gonna be revealed at E3 or some other major gaming event.
Battle of AGES - First Reveal Trailer
The trailer opens with a cinematic of Akira training at The Shrine, striking and punching at the air. His session is interrupted when Kiryu walks up behind the martial artist and challenges him to a fight. Akira asks if he’s one of the new participants in the World Fighting Tournament. Kiryu simply responds by ripping off his shirt and entering his fighting stance. Akira accepts his challenge and the two begin to spar.
Meanwhile in a non-descript grassy field, an unmistakable blue blur boosts through, dragging a screaming Alex Kidd by the collar. A close up shows that it’s none other than Sonic, who’s clearly in a hurry to get somewhere. Flying alongside the two is Tails, who asks why they couldn’t just take the Tornado for Alex’s sake, which Sonic replies that they don’t have time.
We cut back to our two combatants trading blows, when all of a sudden their brawl is interrupted by the blue blur running across the water and then jumping and landing between the two. Sonic remarks something to the effect of “don’t start this party without us!” as Tails catches Alex Kidd, who was ready to pass out from dizziness. Alex quickly recovers, the five combatants nod at each other in respect, and they all go in for a punch as the screen fades to white.
We then cut to gameplay footage of our combatants fighting at the shrine stage, which leads into a quick showcase of each of the revealed fighters on their respective home stages. There’s Sonic and Tails on Green Hill, Akira at the Shrine, Alex on Mt. Eternal, and Kiryu at Millennium Tower. Once we get a glimpse at some of our fighters’ moves, we see more in-game footage of Sonic running around Green Hill before being run over by Aiai in his monkey ball. It’s there where we get another batch of character reveals. We see some short gameplay of Aiai before he’s slammed with a Dragon Upper from Axel, who then gets tagged by Beat and run over by Ryo riding a forklift. As the former cop is chasing after the two teens, the three are stopped for an interview by Ulala, who then shoots them down with her Chu Beam. We then see some more gameplay footage showing off the newly revealed fighters’ attacks as well as some assists and stages from the currently revealed series.
We cut back to the cinematic at the shrine. The combatants are all having a good time, shaking each others’ hands and congratulating each other on their victory. This celebration is unfortunately cut short when Dr. Eggman comes in on his Eggmobile, declaring that he’s invited himself to this fighting tournament and wishes to claim victory so that he can create Eggmanland or something. Orbot and Cubot interject with some quips, and the ten fighters get into position to take down the nefarious doctor. Suddenly, we hear a shift in music as a mysterious girl dawning a kimono jumps from the sky and quickly unsheathes her sword as the rest of the fighters watch bewildered. This woman is revealed to be none other than Sakura Shinguji, who plans to make quick work of the mad scientist.
We cut to gameplay of Sakura fighting against Eggman, efficiently facing him down before she begins to glow. It’s at this point where she performs her All-Star Move, in which she jumps inside her mech and finishes the doctor off. We then see a supercut of a bunch of other characters unleashing their All-Stars, ending on Sonic turning into Super Sonic. We transition back into CG with the Chaos Emerald-powered Sonic delivering the final blow to Dr. Eggman and making him blast off into the sky. Cut to the title and release date.
Before the trailer ends, there’s one last stinger. We see a shadowy figure in a black trenchcoat watching over Sonic and Akira. A girlish voice informs the mysterious fighter that they have another treasure to steal and to approach carefully. As Sonic and Akira are busy trading blows, the mysterious figure makes himself known and flips onto the battlefield, initiating a familiar music cue. We pan up to to the mysterious figure to see that it’s, of course, Joker. Morgana pops up from his shoulder and declares that it’s time to steal the spotlight, and we cut to black. Cue copyright info and Sega eyeball logo thing.
Treasure Hand (first appearance: Persona 3) - a rare enemy and a shiny variant of the Magic Hand. Beating it gets you a lot of resources, but it's quick to run away
Burnout Bully (first appearance: Yakuza: Like a Dragon) - an ordinary salaryman. The stress of work may have brought out his violent side, but he's still pretty weak
Overpunk (first appearance: Yakuza: Like a Dragon) - a street thug who's earned the respect of his entire gang. Gang members are quick to show up when he calls them.
Jack Frost (first appearance: Megami Tensei II) - Hee ho! Of course Jack Frost has to show up here, even if you don't want him to! His ice attacks can chill a party member to the bone!
I'm gonna do descriptions for all these toys eventually, but I am a little limited on time today. I may get to SMT capsules before this prompt is done, but I don't know how many I would be able to submit since I...don't know a lot about SMT.
The first of Persona's many silent protagonists. He is a very straightforward, strong-willed, and intuitive student of St. Hermelin High School. He was a part of the group of students who played 'Persona', a game where if you perform the ritual, it allows you to see the future. After passing out in the middle of the game, they awoke with the ability to summon their 'Persona', a reflection of their true self. When their town began to change and demons started appearing, he took the role of leader in their group. He is identifiable by a piercing on his left ear, which he did himself when he was twelve.
The professional and straitlaced realist, and the young heir to a major corporation who is a student of St. Hermelin High School. Having grown up with a silver spoon in his mouth, Kei holds a sense of superiority around others, referring to people around his age group as kids and always wearing some piece of clothing with "number one" written on it. Although he isn't heartless, his upbringing leads him to view all decisions from a logical business perception first and foremost if it will benefit more in the long run. When he returned to Japan after studying abroad in England, he had since matured and taken up biking, although he's still very dramatic and verbose.
A main party member in Persona 2. Lisa is an American-born popular student of Seven Sisters High School who is the self-proclaimed 'hottest girl at the school' and has a one-sided crush on Tatsuya. She is a victim of bullying and xenophobic comments by classmates because of her foreign appearance, despite knowing little about western culture. She loves kung-fu movies, especially Bruce Lee movies, and will often imitate them, even shouting out Cantonese when she fights with her fists. She has the ability to summon the persona of Eros, the Greek god of love and desire.
One of your main party members in Persona 2. He's a self-obsessed, flirtatious, and flamboyant student at Seven Sisters High School who is the leader of his own band where he plays guitar. In spite of his arrogant nature, he is incredibly sensitive to criticism or when being joked about. He constantly butts heads with another party member, Lisa, for his conceited attitude. He is able to summon the persona Rhadamanthus, greek mythology's judge of the dead in the underworld.
A party member from Persona 3. Junpei is a student at Gekkoukan High School and a member of SEES and a best friend to Persona 3's main character. He's a very enthusiastic and caring person, but equally reckless, immature, and insensitive towards girl's feelings. He thinks of himself as a ladies man, but his many attempts to get with girls at his school end in him striking out. When he fights during the dark hour, he wields a sword like it's a baseball bat, and can summon the persona Hermes, the messenger of the gods and greek god of athleticism and cunning.
One of your party members from Persona 3. Shinji is one of the founding members of SEES, and like most members is a student at Gekkoukan High School, although he usually skips his classes. He seems aloof on the surface, but in actuality is a very caring and gentle soul who looks after the other members and just tries to live a normal life. He and Akihiko are childhood friends, having grown up in the same orphanage. During the dark hour, he wields a battle ax and can summon the persona Castor, twin brother to Polydeuces, whose divine powers together would save those in trouble at sea.
One of the many assistants to Igor in the Velvet Room. Margaret is the older sister of other attendants Elizabeth, Theodore, Caroline, and Justine. She is more mature and stoic than her younger siblings, although hidden underneath her professional demeanor, she has a playful and flirty side to her. She especially likes beefy Persona, constantly giving Yu various missions to create hunky creatures, and she fights with a harem of muscular monsters. She is almost never seen without holding her book, simply called 'Le Grimoire'.
Nanako's father, Yu's uncle and caregiver in Inaba, and the head detective on the string of murders happening in the town. He's a stern but friendly seasoned detective and a workaholic, and he can be short-tempered and harsh at times as his partner Adachi will tell you. He's constantly torn between his work life and his home life, especially after the death of his wife.
Sae is the serious and determined public prosecutor of the Tokyo District Special Investigation Department looking to uncover the truth behind the Phantom Thieves. She is the legal guardian of her sister, Makoto Nijima, although the two are constantly at each other's throats at home. The story of Persona 5 begins on her lengthy and detailed interrogation of Joker...
Caroline & Justine are the attendants of the Velvet Room in Persona 5, who resemble prison guards and treat Joker as their prisoner. They have a variety of torture devices used for the purposes of destroying and fusing your various personas. Caroline is the impatient and easily angered one with the electic baton, and Justine is the distant and condescending one with the clipboard.
Vote for your top 2 picks - keep your own submission in second place if you're going to self-vote.
Collectible submissions are going on until tomorrow. We still have some gaps, so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna sort of "restart" things and give everyone a second round of stuff to submit. As a reminder, you can submit 10 Capsule Toys, 5 pieces of artwork and 4 VMU enemies for each series. Go nuts.
No VF art? Let's fix that then. With Jacky already having a dedicated piece I thought I'd add one for our other two fighters and assist trophy as well as some nice art...if someone wants to grab one of Dural too so we have some art of every major Battle of Ages Virtua Fighter character I think that'd be pretty neat.

-Secondly.....the reveal trailer results are in! Let's take a look:
We'll be using OrpheusTelos' reveal trailer pitch!!!! This means our currently revealed characters are:
Sonic
Tails
Eggman
Akira
Alex Kidd
Kiryu
AiAi
Axel
Beat
Ryo
Ulala
Sakura
Joker
Keep this in mind when putting together future trailers. Which speaking of, I think I found a way to do reveal trailers - I'll be putting together a reveal order, and we'll do jobs for each trailer.
ANYWAY! I think it's time for a new job:
Job #194: Submit a series in our roster to give a second stage to
You know what we haven't really done? Additional stages for series not named Sonic the Hedgehog. And I think doing that would be a good move to flesh out our stage lineup a little more. So let's do it!
We'll be picking out three series to give a second stage to. We'll first be submitting series, then we're voting on said series, and then doing jobs for each of the series that win. Here are the series available for you to submit:
Virtua Fighter
Yakuza
Persona
Shin Megami Tensei (includes non-Persona Megaten in general)
Honestly I’m mainly just pitching this because our Persona content has a very heavy P5 lean and our tracklist consists almost exclusively of P5 songs, and that’s something I really think we should fix. Especially now that we have Aigis on our roster, the lack of any music from her game especially is more glaring. I’m personally an advocate for getting a Velvet Room stage, but we have a ton of potentially fun options to pull from.
Phantasy Star is pretty big and I know one minor thing we pulled ourselves up on is a lack of Phantasy Star Online representation alongside the RPG side.
Maybe we could get some Phantasy Star Online representation via this route instead for the Battle of Ages base game?
Well, I chose Bayonetta, because this franchise has cool enough places to make them as stages for Battle of AGES.
Example would be Umbra Clock Tower or even other places like Highway 666 that would fit as stages in this game.
Bayonetta is one of big SEGA series and it needs a second stage, since Bayonetta is big series and it won't hurt if we had another one.
First Appearance: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner (1995)
Series: Shin Megami Tensei
System Debut: Sega Saturn
A demon that has shown up many times in the Megami Tensei series. Mothman is a strange cryptid with several reported sightings in West Virginia from the 1960's to the 1980's. Reports say it has a grey body with glowing red eyes and appendages that looks like wings that it uses to fly overhead. Little has been documented as those who have seen it have only caught a glimpse of the elusive creature. It seems to have a keen sense of direction while hunting its prey.
A demon that has made many appearances throughout the Shin Megami Tensei series. Although she may look like a polite young girl, don't make the mistake of thinking she's a pushover. Rumor says she is the ghost of an English girl who died before going mad with power as a spirit, but many say she had never existed at all, but came from the twisted mind of a writer. Regardless, she holds a scary amount of power, and an insatiable love of killing. She's been known to ask people if they will die for her. To some of the heroes in the Megami Tensei series, she has been an unlikely ally, but to many more she's been a powerful foe.
A demon who has appeared many times in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. Mara is the embodiment of evil and represents the fear of death. He comes from Buddhism, where it's said he tried attacking Buddha while he was meditating in front of a tree, as he felt threatened by the enlightenment Buddha was looking to give humanity. He corrupts many souls with lust and fear. His horrible reputation has led him to get the nickname of "The Evil One".
First Appearance: Digital Devil Saga: Megami Tensei II (1990)
Series: Shin Megami Tensei
System Debut: Famicom
A demon that has had numerous appearances in the Shin Megami Tensei games. Belphegor is one of the seven princes of hell, and is the governing body of sloth. He is an inventive and crafty demon whose grand plan involves making people have great ideas so that they become rich, thus making them greedy. Rumor has it that Belphegor is a disgraced form of Ba'al Pe'or, the Syrian god of abundant crops.
This character shows up in numerous Shin Megami Tensei games with a different form, and sometimes a slightly different name, but they are all the same. They have been a businessman, a young schoolgirl, an old man in a wheelchair, an unusual young woman with a hairclip, and even a young boy. All of these forms are just masks, however, hiding Louis Cyphre's true form as the demon Lucifer. They tend to have blonde hair, heterochromatic red and blue eyes, and they are charismatic, intelligent, and playful people. It seems as though the former angel can take any form they see fit, however, and if his various appearances are of any indication, the Lord of Chaos doesn't need to hide, he just chooses to do so for his own amusement.

It uses the power of brain jacking to control its victims, leaving them without a soul. Although the weapon is a sword in her hands, it changes to best fit whoever it controls.
