So due to an error of some sorts. Smashboards is in control of a large plot of land, designated to be a Theme Park themed around the concept of Video Games. So it is up to us to create it

What do you even submit

Areas: These are the themed areas that house each attraction and other things (All that is needed is the name, theme and music that plays in the background)

Rides and Attractions: The Main event, each ride is it's own thing and as long as it fits the theme, anything goes. (All that is needed is a name, theme and ride type)

Restaurants: People need to eat, these can also be elaborately themed (All that is needed is a name, Theme and general menu selection)

Mascots: People spend exorbatent amounts of money to see fancy characters, what characters can appear?

With that said. Let's Go or whatever!

Job 1

Submit a theme for the entrance area.

The only restrictions are that it cannot be themed after 1 specific game, series or company. it has to be a generic theme related to video games.

What you need to submit is a
-Area Name
-Theme description

Bloodsauce Dungeon, Pizza Tower, ???
Theme: Giant Television set - you walk through glass doors that appear on glass wall that represents the screen. In this area, there are lots of television screens depicting various video game gameplays and commercials/trailers while you're waiting with friends or family.
(The TVs range from 1980's styled ones to modern ones. Also the entrance is stylized after stock 1980's television set)

Name: Into the screen!

(I went with giant TV entrance because in order to play a video game on hom console, you just need to have a TV set)

This is honestly an interesting thread idea for sure, one I could never think of.

Theme: Main Menu: You walk under a big screen with a menu similar to menus in video games showing various options of things to do at the theme park. At different times, it will click “Free Play” representing the fact you can explore the park at your own leisure.

Area: Time to play!

Vote for your top 2

Walking through the To be announced Entrance plaza brings us to the Central Hub where you can access the various Themed areas. There are even rides in this central hub that are not explicitly tied to the other areas

Job 2

Submit the first attraction in the Central Hub

What you need to submit
-Name
-What it is based on
-Type of ride and description

The only other caveat is that whatever ride wins, the thing that it is themed on will not be able to get it's own specifically themed area. (It can still get content in a more broad theme)

1. The Slot
2. Time to Play

First Attraction:

In the Beginning

This would be similar to a Toy Story Mania-esque ride where it’s based on the VERY early history of video games. Throughout the ride, you will get to play the very early video games in a cart with a blaster. Such games you will get to play include Bertie the Brain, Tennis for Two, etc. Then, it will end off with a section based on Spacewar! where you get to play the game and be in it.

The ride will be in sort of a monochrome room and monochrome/simplistic color design based on early video games as well. Quite a fun ride to start people at a video game theme park to start at the very beginning of video game history!

Theme for First Area

Retro Arcade

IMG_9827.jpeg

So much potential here for rides, attractions, mascot meet and greets, restaurants, etc. This area would be themed after old-school arcade games such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede, Mario Bros, etc. A whole tribute to the arcade era of the 70s-late 80s.

Also, I hope all of the stuff we add to the theme park will be kept on the intro post or in a Google Doc or something.
