Smash64s Section Discussion

Great idea but I think that "Brawl & Melee" tournaments happen extremely often while 64 is rare. So I don't really think we need a "Melee + 64" or "Brawl + 64" font. But if it doesn't bother the admins to create those, why not?

Yeah exactly, this is why I felt that just a 64 tagged on some events would be fine, at least at first. I suppose there could possibly be melee + 64, and brawl + 64 events but I don't feel that new colors are necessary because the 64 events would most always be side events and only the true 64 goers would really care about the 64 event.

For example if there's 64 going on at a tournament I'm gonna go for that as my main and if I can I'll enter melee or brawl for the lolz. Right now a lot of people I know like playing in brawl and melee tournaments in the same day just do it for fun. If you want to do really well it's best to just focus on your game. And seeing as how a typical tournament of brawl + melee takes up a lot of time that it isn't likely people will enter all three.

I think the sections mentioned by Surri are good ideas, and having the sticky threads for each character.

the yellow 64 tag would be much better than having separate colors for everything.

There are a few guides floating around somewhere. I think most people would agree that guides don't do too much for our community, but if we were to have character boards I would actually really enjoy seeing a character guide, matchup discussions, and metagame discussions etc for each character.

We need to figure out what guides are made and which need to be and if anyone with some expertise is working on any. IIRC there's a fox, pikachu, link?... Idk I know there is a fox guide as someone bumped it not too long ago. And don't quote me on it, as it might be wishful thinking, but I think sheer said he wanted to do a yoshi guide =]

I love it, except you should have an 'advanced techniques' section... which involves using a falcon pawnch when you can for flash.

My point is, try to elaborate it a little bit more than f-throw to upsmash, which is the most simple thing ever and thats what n00b falcons do

Seems good, but still we miss whole guides if your research is correct. So hope they get made.

As for the ones that's made, they maybe should be put back on the front page as the Link and Doug one. Since the people i guess need these guides the most are those who are new on this site, and not aware of were to find the hidden ones.

I can accept this, actually. Better than being in the general gaming; we get as much respect as melee now, pretty muchly. Less space, but that's fair enough-we do have fewer people.

Now Felipe, be nice. I think it's entirely reasonable; this way, they save space, but acknowledge that we're not just some random game. It would have been nice if they'd told us or something, though... lol.

Yeah, I preferred 64 being on top of the "other games" section. To me this seems worse for both 64 and melee.

Lol, I think it's actually pretty sweet. Don't have any bitter memories of the old 64 game, so, likewise, got no problems with the boards. Wasn't even aware of the merge till a locked topic.

Hm. Makes this place just a tad bit easier/convenient to access, IMO... For some reason Smash 64 above the Pkmn/Zelda/other Nintendo forum stuff places just never caught my eye. 'least now it's easier to see without having to scroll that extra bit or two.

...oh, and probably "Smash Melee & 64" since the Melee boards are at the top; just a hunch, though.
