Here's a writeup of his abilities in general. It's crazy how much moveset potential Sora has.

Potentially. He could also be giving misinformation though, so I wouldn't be as sure of Shadow as I would be of the other Big 5.

You know, I would happily to support Sora in the smash since he has potential moveset right there. That's good summary of what abilities Sora have.

You've all caught wind that he knows things now, but if you guys stack up all of Jon's predictions into two columns of what's been actual knowledge and what's been pure guessing, you'd see why investing into any one claim is unwise. He's been making guesses about Smash since GX started covering the game in spring. You've got months of guessing to comb through, it's not worthwhile to get hung up on any of them. For example, he's mentioned Banjo many more times than Shadow, Shadow was just a recent guess.

If you're going to give him credence, at least do more than simply cherrypick the latest guess.

Not trying to cherrypick, I just genuinely do not know what this guy predicts.

That was then. This is now. And besides, none of those characters had a big cinematic trailer made for them. So it didn't seem awkward to place it in the middle.

All I'm saying is that thisntuke around Sakurai seems to really want to hype up the very few characters we are getting the best he can.

Not gonna lie, Shadow being absent this long is really heckin' weird. If he just ends up an AT again, then it'll kinda feel left field. There have been multiple opportunities to show him as AT off, but he still hasn't shown up. Him getting cut from the game entirely doesn't make much sense either given his popularity, so TBH I'm still pretty sold on him being in. I mean, Isabelle had the exact same things going for her and she made it in as a semi-clone, so I don't think it's too much of a stretch to think Shadow would at least get in as an Echo.

Either that, or I'm crazy and reading into things I shouldn't be. Time will tell. :p

Wait, so you're ruling out your pattern based on the past "then's" being broken due to another "then"?
Uhhh...goalposts seem to be moving.

Omega Tyrant just showed you why they don't have to be saved for the beginning and end, as they haven't before. They were shown in the middle of a Direct.

That's fair enough, it's because people didn't believe/know he knew things until recently, and even now we don't know exactly what he knows. But the point is, the things he actually knows pale in comparison to the number of guesses he makes, so just because he raised Shadow doesn't mean he knows anything, he's been talking about Smash and guessing with the rest of GX for literally months now. He's raised a lot of characters at this point.

Jon brought up Shadow as a semi clone only because of a question GX received on Patreon, which was "which characters do you guys think would make good semi clones?." It wasn't a prediction, but a wish.

He has brought up (or agreed with the idea of) Shadow at other times in the context of being an echo. But, like I said yesterday, it doesn't really matter at this stage when he's made a ton of other predictions.

Even now I hesitate to bring it up, because people will imbue it with more value than it's probably worth, but Jon has raised Banjo a decent amount. Perhaps other characters as well, but I only listen to GX discussions periodically.

I would imagine most conversations relate to recent reveals as opposed to just general predictions. Perhaps their videos predicting the recent Directs would be worth listening to, as those are more general predictions.

But please please keep in mind Jon guesses significantly more than he shares actual info.

LaPailleDor (1): A leaker on French forum jeuxvideo, LaPailleDor claimed that Chrom, K Rool, Richter, and Simon would be playable, as well as Dracula as a boss and stage morph being an option, all later coming true. However, the mods of the forum claim that these were faked.
LaPailleDor (2): A 4chan leaker who claims to be LaPailleDor, giving several pieces of evidence of his identity.
WhisslBlank (1): More commonly known as the NeoGAF Leaker, WhisslBlank claimed that K Rool, Simon, and Chrom would be added.
WhisslBlank (2): A second NeoGAF account claiming to be WhisslBlank, offering possibly falsified evidence. As this is likely false, and the claim that Galacta Knight will be a Meta Knight echo is already soft-deconfirmed, anything that only he claimed will be in red.
Ken Leaker: A 4chan leaker who posted an image of Ken in the debug mode. This image has been proven time and time again to be watertight.
Loz18: A GameFAQs leaker who claimed that there would be a Smash direct in August that showed a full tour of the menus, that would show three modes, and that there would be a cutscene themed around heroes vs villains (which turned out to be K Rool's reveal trailer).
Senjougahara Hitagi: A leaker who has got several things right about other games. As Vergeben has backed up Senjougahara and claimed that the two share sources, leaks from them will also be in green.

Just updating this with a small observation: Ayumi, Ninten, and Sable Prince could be considered as the "WTF characters". This means that LaPailleDor (2) and WhisslBlank (2) were the only notable leakers to mention a WTF character. It could entirely be possible, then, that we won't get one at all? Especially since it's virtually impossible for one to get in as DLC.

So you're throwing out all the Smash 4 stuff, in which case you only have...two Directs to based this "pattern" on, seems like an awfully small sample size to me.

Reminder again that Steve is not yet an official claim by Vergeben and shouldn't be attached to his claimed leaks, he merely stated he think it's a possibility and heard murmurs of it from outside his Smash sources, but has not heard of it actually being a thing from his Smash sources yet.

i'm gonna be honestly, this completely out of left field geno reference has me reeling.

Like, this ain't tied to smash at all i know that and is just a coincidence, but that fact that he was referenced in KH footage right as people talk about both the possibility of geno and sora together makes me feel like i've just uncovered a glitch in the matrix

I'm not saying really anything for or against the "Geno cameo" in KH3, but I do want to look at it a bit closer.
I'm doing this because people think it's related to the "sora and geno in smash" thing.

From here we can see that the doll in question doesn't actually have a similar hat imo... nor is the face similar, and unlike Geno, the puppet heartless isn't a doll completely made out of wood (it looks mostly stuffed). It appears the head may be- but that's about the only similarity imo. I don't see the "face is similar" argument, because... I mean, look at it. The only thing that is similar between them is the fact that they both have a face.

I GUESS the hat might be similar if you squint and wish really hard?

Everyone likes to pull straws, so I just wanted to point that out. You know who else is a cloud? Zack Fair Mallow.

(The puppet heartless is actually just the cloud controlling it... because it's a puppet... lol)

tl;dr
I don't get the connection to Geno except loosely thematically. But you never know, I guess.

The 4chan thread wasn't 404'd by the way, it's not the complete link. 4chan threads always have 9 numbers, (i.e. 432722649). The one posted only had 4.
