Regarding 3rd Party characters we can so keep speculating on who and what could make it into Smash Ultimate here. I mean so far Erdrick has been rumored as the next DLC character announced, which would be really neat. But what 1st and 2nd Party Characters do you think could make it in folks?

I heard rumors for Impa and Zeraora before, which would be good choices but do any of you have some Nintendo hopefuls as DLC? I'd be all for Ninten from Earthbound Beginnings/Mother 1, I know we already have two Earthbound characters but I think he could work out really well. Midna would be very interesting, heck I'd like to see if they could give her a moveset where she has two forms much like how Zelda/Sheik used to. One where she's an Imp that rides on a Wolf (not necessarily Link) and the other where she's a Princess as seen in TP's ending. Dixie Kong would be nice but I wouldn't mind if she was an Echo. There are way too many characters who could fit in the roster here, I'm just wondering if anyone had some hopefuls of their own.

I'd love Dixie but apparently she's too new. Bandana Dee would also be great, but I have no hopes for him. Xenoblade and ARMS probably won't get anything, so... nothing?

I hope DLC goes crazy with the characters, base roster was kinda too vanilla for me.

I really don't think any DLC character will have a 1st party character. Every possible character to be added now from Nintendo are C tier characters that wouldn't really sell that much. So it would be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

And Guest characters sell far more than 1st party characters in Fighting Games and are much more hyped.

Speaking on Guest characters. I'm fully on board with a Resident Evil character being the 3rd Unique Capcom character. Since it's one of the most likely series to be one of the 4 remaining DLC series.

1. It's the 3rd biggest Capcom franchise.
2. The most likely rep, Leon Kennedy is a huge favorite among gamers, and he fits the unexpected darkhorse character so well.
3. Resident Evil 4 is pretty much the most beloved entry in the series and it debuted on the Gamecube.

I guess the only problem is the guns though but I'm sure Sakurai would find a way around that or ditch that rule now.

Geno, Skull Kid, Tingle, Banjo-Kazooie, Ninten, Porky, Sans & Papyrus, Lancer, Steve, Creeper, Herobrine, Chorus Kids, King Boo, Marx, Dark Matter, Adeleine, Gooey, Polar Bear from Ice Climber, King Dedede as an echo of King Dedede, and last but not least, Popeye.

I'd be all for Sylux or any Metroid Prime Hunters character, but I gotta say having an actual Playable Metroid sounds really cool. Since being "too big" isn't much of a factor anymore I'd choose either a Zeta or Omega Metroid in that case.

I know I'm a million posts behind but that's why Smash Snake is hilarious to me. His face is solidly Big Boss, or at least Naked Snake. His sneaking suit is MGS2 Solid Snake. His stage and kit and codecs are Twin Snakes. His arsenal is Metal Gear 1 and 2. He has Raiden's little flip kick from MGS2. His alts are all Snake Eater. His final smash is from V. He's an amalgamation that manages to do the character justice while getting absolutely everything wrong. He's like if you asked someone who has never actually played the Metal Gear series to design Snake based on what they heard about every character they ever heard called "Snake".

I still love him.

I thought that it was Sakurai's main worry about that. Didn't realize Cero was a factor for that, at least for Base game.

Side B is now Scatter Shot, works like Fire Breath in that it can be held down while its power slowly decreases but releasing the button gives it a finishing hitbox; Down B is now Echo Clone, where she makes a copy of herself that's controlled by an AI, it can attack by pressing A and pressing B will make it explode, only one clone can be out at a time and any hit will instantly kill it; Charge Shot is now weaker but has a targetting property ala Auto-Reticle; Down Smash is the Phazon Tentacles.)
• Kraid(Big boy bigger than Ridley and K.Rool. Mainly based off Super Metroid but has moves based off the other Space Pirate bosses.)
• Mother Brain(Porky gave her a mech)
• Zero Suit Samus(is cut)

As for why, it's like asking why Dragon Ball is so good. The better answer is experiencing it yourself. Anyone who played the games shares that feeling instantly. Personally, I think he's the greatest gaming character ever created, his games too (not all of'em of course, but the majority.. over 50 (including ports)). Nothing even come slose.. well, the only one would be Mega Man. Unfortunately not many of his titles made it west side (only 5).. his only obstacle of being the #1 requested imo. Shoot any questions you like.

Have you done all of the Challenges, Classic Mode routes, or tried Online yet? Maybe try unlocking Elite Smash.

-Hilda from A Link Between Worlds. But I feel like she missed her chance since she wasn't included in the base game as an Echo of Zelda, and I'm not sure if we'll be getting echo fighters as DLC. It's a shame cause she would have been a really good candidate for a Zelda Echo.

-Linkle or Lana from Hyrule Warriors would be cool, but I doubt either of them would get in.

-Adeleine is another character I'd want to see in and I think she's pretty likely, but idk.

-Lip from Panel de Pon. I'm not sure if the Mii costume decomfirms her though.

-There's another Nintendo character I wanna see as DLC but they have no chance of becoming playable, so yeah. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ninten is a cool idea, but if we are gonna get another Mother rep I'd rather it be someone who'd be nothing like Lucas or Ness, like Porky, or maybe even Giygas?
Midna would be a cool new 1st party character, we haven't gotten a new one that wasn't just another Link since Melee after all, though I'd prefer Skull Kid over Midna. Since both are assists though, maybe Vaati? He's a pretty unknown Zelda villain, and I think he'd be a cool DLC pick. Other than that, I can't think of too many 1st party reps that'd interest me all too much as DLC

Not hating on Leon, I think he'd be cool and is one of the most likely Capcom reps, but I think the most likely one is Phoenix Wright, and personally I'd rather see Phoenix Wright being in since I'm a huge Ace Attorney fan
Every game in is series has been on a Nintendo console, so I think that helps his chances a little bit lol

I liked that part about Dark Samus, but...



This part is a bit misleading.

I mean, when all of her A moves except one are still the same, it's not by much.
Only her specials would be really different and still, Screw Attack is still there.

I actually think that outside of anything Snake does physically, it's a kinda solid attempt at a non-firearms version of Snake. Unfortunately, firearms make up a PRETTY DAMN BIG CHUNK OF MGS.

My personal gripes for the moveset would be the move references that are barely relevant to the character past one game.

Like the cypher being used for his recovery or the nikita missile being things I'd personally replace with the Fulton or Tranq respectively. Or the Mortar that I think only gets used for MGS4?
And probably my biggest complaint is that fsmash is so beyond nonsensical, I cannot believe that that was the smash unchanged and not the actual more canon claymore dsmash that was both useful and a good reference. I really like how Project M gave him a CQC knife dance, so maybe that'd be my pick for the replacement.

Oh yeah, and that Utilt. Like, what the **** is Snake even doing there? Keep everything the same, but change that animation so it's real kick and not... whatever Snake's doing.
