Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

Back on track, who else here isn't particularly concerned with who the DLC is?
They are who they are and I'll be getting the fighter pack anyway, so

Speculation is fine of course, I just don't particularly care too much, let alone enough to "be disappointed" by it haha

My hopes of getting anyone I want lie dead in the water so now I'm just hoping the characters aren't ones I actively hate.

I pretty much stopped caring about newcomers. I just hope we'll get new franchises and that's probably a given at this point.

I wouldn’t be surprised. It’d be a good time to just show off the first DLC pack character’s official render or something. We may even get a PP date. I’m expecting that’s almost done, so I could see it dropping during an end of Jan update or something.

I’d love if they just threw us for a loop and dropped a DLC echo and announced another ballot for DLC pack 2 or something, but I shouldn’t get ahead of myself.

I'm more interested in the base game then DLC right now for sure

But after the hype dies down, I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't be interestered in the DLC characters to see if at least one of my most wanteds gets in.

Knowing me, you'd know the only thing I hate are badly written characters made for promotional purposes than any amount of fan desire.

Which, you know, currently apples to 2 characters.

They already pulled that with Piranha Plant. I doubt they would do it again.

The creator did express interest in taking feedback from Western audiences.
So this would be great a chance for them to make Arcana Heart's name more well-known in the West.

All I want is for at least one of the DLC characters to be someone I specifically want (see: the icons in my sig).

Agreed. I just wanna have fun with whoever is in. I never knew I wanted Ryu until he was revealed and now I'm stoked to play as Ken.

I have my hopes, but that doesn't mean I won't have fun with anyone they pick. Speculation is fun though.

I think the biggest question is how the hell did you waste 25 dollars on breakfast? That kind of money is for fancy restaurants serving dinner.

I swear to God it's like you just woke up from a coma you've been in for the past six years and just discovered "this cool new Homestuck thing why doesn't anyone talk about it" and it trips me out hardcore.

Haven't posted here in a while. Wow this thread has had some, uh, interesting topics.

Anyway, if I had to pick 3 likely DLC characters, they'd be:
  • Elma
  • Rayman
  • Dragon Quest Rep
Not really my cup of tea, but I think all of these are likely.

Piranha Plant probably isn't going to be released until February (around the same time as the Amiibo), so I doubt that would happen.

I'm not even sure they finished developing him yet.
