For Sephiroth?

Planet's Core (the final Dungeon) or Nibelheim (the second most important town after Midgar)

Both are very important locations for Sephiroth as a character, as well.

I'm really not even sure what to think anymore when it comes to these "leakers".

Like, I want to believe that we're still getting a Square Enix character, I really do. I've seen and experienced some really great games that come from them, and there are a small handful of characters that I think would be great. However, my trust in anything Verg says is waning. - Verg says he hears there's content but never specifies. Hitagi matches up with this information, and then seems to suggest that Steve is playable. After about a month, Hitagi claims that their information is mostly wrong except for Steve. Datamine is released a short while after, and Verg spills the beans that the content is a boss fight, yet there is no Minecraft content to be seen. Verg is left confused.

- While the other content Verg leaked is impressive in terms of the streak he has going, it's not like he's the only one who had the information. Several other insiders had it before him and simply didn't say it because they weren't comfortable saying it. This is likely because his source, likely similar to the other "leakers" or "insiders" were playtesters. This can also be related to that guy from Reddit who said the only character that was accessible was Piranha Plant.

Now, here's where the logic derails for me. This guy who leaked on reddit was a playtester who, as the story goes, was fired and was mad. Because of that, he leaked Ken, Incineroar, Piranha Plant, spirits, and the Mario Paint Flyswatter Assist Trophy. This was leaked (I believe) 2 months ago. Nobody believed it, probably because of a mix of, "THERZ N0 WEH ITZ ONLY KEN AND FIRE CAT YOU NOOB" and "Piranha Plant? No way!" However, this leaker said that Ken, Incineroar, and Piranha Plant were the only characters that he knew of and could access, through debug menu or not.

If the sources main way of knowing this stuff is through playtesting, then how would anyone know who is Downloadable if the characters aren't being playtested? If Nintendo is keeping this as secret or as close to the chest as possible, how would the initial planning slip through the cracks that easily?

If the source(s) who provided Ken and Incineroar is/are the same source that are leaking Steve, then it would appear to me that there's legitimately no logical way it could be known that the character is in the game...unless this source has deep connections to the deepest parts of the development team and somehow has shown definitive proof that Steve is in the game as playable and is coming with a boss, but that still wouldn't explain the fact that Vergeben has heard that only a boss is coming while HItagi seems confident Steve is playable. That doesn't make sense, especially if they've shared information with each other.

I'm not saying there's no way anything of this sort could leak, but I'm just not really following how this could be a thing unless Verg and Hitagi know people that a lot of other "insiders" don't. Especially with Ryce, another reputable source, saying they've heard nothing of the sort.

I don't know, vaanrose and Thirdkoopa am I making sense? I mainly don't care too much at this point because I am simply counting down the days to actually getting my hands on this game. I am looking forward to DLC and glad that the early speculation of "We know Steve, Katalina, and a SE character!" are pretty much nuked, but I do frankly want to get to the bottom of it.

The problem with this Jones is you're assuming Verge is the sole reason we believe in the SE rep.

There are SO many others backing up the SE reps beyond just Verge.

The thing is both Vergeben and Hitagi have been in a situation of leaking DLC for other games. Vergeben leaked TMNT for Injustice 2's DLC pass and there's no way he could've known that from play testers. Same with Hitagi he/she leaked Android 17 for DragonBall FighterZ DLC pass and again there's no way they could know this information from only play testers. So they both do have some sources, right now its just hard to see whats going on in terms of Smash Ultimate DLC.

I'm not sure why you're only addressing a few people, but I think it does make sense to doubt the veracity of Verg's Minecraft claims, since he first made these claims way back before E3 and there is no Minecraft content in the base game. Which implies that, if he's actually correct, that he somehow had knowledge of DLC way back then, and probably had access to that information even earlier than we knew about it. So, how was that information leaked? The only thing I can think of is that the negotiations with Mojang/Microsoft were leaked, which is probably why nobody seems 100% sure what the content actually entails. I think Hitagi or their source may have just jumped the gun and assumed that Steve was confirmed by their information.

Maybe have the stage be the inside of the Nibelheim reactor from Crisis Core? Could have an excuse to have cowgirl Tifa in the background that cheers you on as a heroic character or rallies against you if you play as a villain character. Also could have Zack there too.

No one is confirmed or deconfirmed just yet.
The fact that Sora is on the list is good for his chances.
That fact that Verge says that he's the one character that's not in isn't.
It could go either way.

Nibelheim makes sense, You could do Northern Crater.

IDK why but I like the idea of being in the Shinra Building (And no, not when the President is dead!) but it could be during the time Diamond Weapon attacks Midgar.
