Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

Why cut Roy? Also making Lucina an alt would completely change the way she plays.

I don't think Sora is as likely as some people think he is. Especially with how difficult corporate Disney would be

For what reason would anyone dislike Roy?
I don't get the FE complaints at all. Like, maybe the criticism of too many Fire Emblem characters is valid, but I often see people complain that they're all "the same character". This is entirely false in every way imaginable.


You have to be an idiot to think Roy feels anything like Marth if you've played Smash 4.


Lucina's lack of a tipper changes her playstyle entirely. She goes from a character who has to be good at spacing to someone really aggressive.


You can't even make an argument that Corrin or Robin play anything like anyone else.


Ike is heavy as hell with moves that have different hitboxes, endlag, start up lag, range, functionality, and different knockback properties. Literally what you would use to define a different character

That’s not necessarily a complaint about slots. I more often see that idea thrown around based on deservedness. Which admittedly is a whole different can of worms.

Mainly Zelda and Jigglypuff but I secondary a lot of characters, because you know, casual and all.

She'd be in the game one way or another though. Unless people are saying things like "but she didn't deserved an amiibo/her won victory poses etc" it doesn't make much sense.

I just restarted kingdom hearts last night. It is a game that starts with existentialism followed by a trippy sequence set to J-Pop with implications for Yaoi shippers and ending with shallow references to Disney. If they House of Mouse greenlit that it is it proof enough that they would NOT be difficult when it comes to Kingdom Hearts.

Generally the complaint comes to Alph and how he’s still just an alt while Lucina is her own thing whenever I see it pop up. Whether you think that’s a valid complaint or not is up to you, but it’s not really about slots.

I don't think it's a valid argument. Marth and Olimar fight nothing alike and latter is a lot more mechanically complex.

Though okay, I can get why it's not about slots.
