Just wanting somebody and being popular doesn’t mean a character should be/would be a good addition to Smash Bros.I think there are a lot of people who want Daisy in the game...just because they want Daisy in the game! Why do you think she is still in games and got her own standalone amiibo? Why was she picked to be the only new character in Mario Run by herself?
Boo has an amiibo. Chain Chomp is in Mario Tennis Aces. Should they be in Smash now because they have merchandise or a big push in a sports game? I don’t think there’s reasoning there.
On a gameplay level, Daisy doesn’t bring much to the table. Sure, she could have flowers. But is she a clone of Peach? That’s boring. That doesn’t make a character that I want to play.
The wonderful thing about Smash Wii U was that even if I hated a character when they were announced (Ex: Robin) I was interested in trying them and it quelled my hatred. Having played Mario games my entire life, and playing countless hours of games with Daisy in them, I can confidently say that, compared to the wide selection we still have, she really isn’t interesting.
Captain Toad? I can see something in him. Daisy? Eh...not so much.
There are a ton of characters who have people who support them for Smash. That isn’t something that makes Daisy special.
