Yeah but even then, she's still a niche character from a niche genre. She may have been more popular than she was in Bayonetta 1, but that's an extraordinarily low bar.
There's no way Bayonetta got so popular in the few months between her release and her DLC creation, even if an American youtuber helped support her.

I mean you say that yet one of the big community wants is a character who has barely anything going for him other than "he looks cool" and was only 'important' in a single game and made a cameo in another, and even LOST said cameo after it got remade. If that isn't niche idk what is

A seemingly credible leak promising 8 characters and all of them being big pulls?

Being in a world of cynicism where everybody had pretty much accepted Kencineroar may have been depressing but at least people would have gotten hype from surprise additions. Now if it's anything less than Grinch people are gonna be salty

I'm not too sure about that. You'll have the fallout from vocal fans, yes, but the hype was pretty dead after the 8.8 direct lost its steam so the grinch at least got people talking about the game again.

I'm not sure too about the rest of the rational parts of the internet but there was a recent reddit thread on r/smashbros about this very situation (the leak being fake). Everyone on Team Real was saying that they would be pretty happy about the roster regardless of what happens and that they would only be a little disappointed.

The reaction this leak got is proof enough the community is not satisfied

And in my opinion that's their own fault

Well I technically didn't say "playable" in my context, even though I do want her playable. Even though she really isn't big, I personally see her as the 2nd highest chance for another KI rep after Medusa. Plus it's not the first time an Assist Trophy had been promoted to a playable character, so the possibility still exists. It may not be a high chance, but it's still a possibility. I'm sure many of us think it's still odd that both she and Magnus suddenly disappeared from AT status (probably because demo things), and the lack of KI things in general happening. I mean sure the only new thing we got is the Insight Staff and Pit's new FS... and Palu's slightly different moveset, but again, it's just me being curious and all.

Sometimes I feel many people are focused too much on the mainly talked about characters and forget that other possibilities can happen. For me, Phosphora just happens to be that one that is often ignored, in favor of Medusa (who I also want playable) or Hades, who I could see as a boss (though Twinbellows would be a brilliant KI boss choice too). And I already mentioned Monster Hunter a few times.

I mostly meant why would you think it was likely to see her in any context, that's all.

That said, though I love Phosphora, I don't think she's 2nd most likely, that would probably go to Hades or Viridi honestly, though I doubt we'll get anyone other then maybe Medusa as an Echo Fighter..which is sad to say since Medusa is my favorite Kid Icarus character and one of my most wanted 1st Party characters, but at this point I don't think she's super likely outside of maybe DLC..though I'd love to be wrong. I just doubt we'll get two Kid Icarus reps when I can't even see one as likely since there hasn't been a new Kid Icarus game yet so they aren't super relevant.

Yeah, there are definitely a lot of people pretty vocal about how much they dislike insiders, that's for sure. Since I've seen a lot more rational people out there so I'm hoping those who're angry are just the.. vocal minority and that it doesn't snowball or something.

Ain't that the truth. Wish people would learn to be more skeptical, given how many potential fake leaks Smash gets you'd think people would learn.

Just wanted to say that I can't even begin to understand the mentality of Assist Trophies being some sort of punishment or any kind of "middle finger" to a character.

The truth is, if a character reaches Assist Trophy status, they weren't gonna get added as a fighter anyway. Being an Assist Trophy is not a "decomfirmation" it's not a "death". It doesn't "lower a character chances".

They are a way bring a character to life, when they otherwise would have no chance to appear in the game in any other form. Even though he didn't make it to Brawl back in the day, I was ecstatic to see Isaac brought to the game as an AT. He was given more detail than ever before, and I could still see him show up on fights every now and then!

I've been crossing my fingers for Isaac to be a playable Smash character since 2006. I've created moveset ideas. I've drawn stages. I've argued about his chances in forums. I voted for him in the Ballot.

If he was back as an Assist Trophy I'd be ****ing hyped. At worst, Isaac's assist would feel like closure. I'd like him to be playable, and I was a bit dissapointed that he still wasn't playable in Wii U/3DS. But to find out they had even removed his Assist Trophy was an even bigger blow. I'd love to welcome him back in any form.

At best? His assist would be a sign that Nintendo has not forgotten about him. Even if he's not a playable character, at least he'd still have a place in this massive celebration of Nintendo's history.

And that's huge.

It saddens me that other fans just can't manage to see it that way.

A lot of last DLC salt caused because people acted like they were promised something for not much reason. I think there will be salt even without the Grinch leak but it really didn't helped.

The moment you hear that guitar tearing in, you'll realize why they remixed this song like 7 times.

This one's got some slow buildup, but by God when it gets rolling, it's such a catchy tune. Fun fact, this one was a dynamic soundtrack that changed slightly as you went further in the game.

This song's so good, it's the only song they remade for Persona 5's DLC and OST costumes.

Really, just remix anything Shoji Meguro.
That man's a GOD at music.
