The "For Glory" and "For Fun" setup didn't really work as intended, and the skill rating system and how it paired you with other people was broken. I'd like for them to go into detail on how "For Fun" will be expanded to offer more variety in its game types and item/stage selection, and how stage selection in "For Glory" will work now that they don't all have to be FD. I'd like to see a new online ranking/matchmaking system will work, assuming they aren't just plugging in what Smash 4 had. What are you hoping to be revamped, out of interest? I can see how it could last 3-5 minutes if it's something like 2 minutes of "all online modes return with a fresh new look and some new features *cue clips with explanatory text*" + 3 minutes of "and for the first time ever [2 or 3 things] [....] we really hope you enjoy it!"
I'd like to see lobbies introduced, like every other fighting game since SFIV, so that you can play with multiple friends simultaneously and trade off matches while everyone's easily accessible. And on that note, I want to see how your Switch friends list can be used to invite and join games in a much easier way than Smash games past. And though this is a long shot, I really want an online training mode so that players can practice together without setting up an actual match. This has been a wonderful feature in other fighting games. Further, we need to know about voice chat, whether it's through the console itself like Fortnite or through the dinky phone app like Splatoon, and how that works with player lobbies, For Glory and For Fun. All of this is assuming there also isn't some cooky new online mode Sakurai thought up and wants to share.
And while he probably won't go into it, I'd REALLY like to see how they plan on avoiding the type of latency we saw in Smash 4. I doubt it'll be anything but a PvP setup, but one can dream.
