Doesn't really prove anything, but some people are claming the workplace depicted in the video is similar to the supposed one in the leak. It's kind of a stretch though and it basically just shows what we already knew, they're a printing company.

Just curious as I’m just catching up. Who is everyone that is confident that Banjo, Isaac, and Geno aren’t in the game, and what makes Mach Rider a maybe?

Spawn Wave on his podcast seems like he doesn’t seem sure that any of those three are in the game, especially Isaac who he said he hopes gets in. Mach Rider being a maybe was total speculation from me tho.

I never heard anything about an issue of them being an Avatar, but either way the Monster Huntress was in MvCI so even if it was an issue they long since relented.

Also, while I agree that we do need to learn more about Edelgard's role, I don't think too many FE characters will be an issue if Sakurai feels she can be unique like Corrin before her.

Fair point, I think 0% is a bit too absolute. I'll bump it 40% then, since you have a good point about MvC:I Monster Hunter as well.
While it is true that Edelgard could get in off of being unique, I find Sakurai's remarks about his hesitance to add Corrin in the first place to be telling that he probably wouldn't do this again.

There isn't a single western owned property playable in Smash, ever.

Yacht Club funded their own amiibo and probably catered hard to Nintendo just to get an assist trophy... Ubisoft threw models of Rayman at Nintendo/ Sakurai and the most they did with it was a trophy.

Gaijin is a concept in Japan.

It's not racist. It's just cultural pride.

And they still don't mind publishing Western-made games in Japan nor using Western designs.

I don't see a problem here...I doubt they care that much about a playable character in Smash being from a Western game...

And they didn't care that Ridley was heavily requested by only Western people; if they were so prideful about it, wouldn't they ignore the West?

They even hire Western devs to make some of their games.

This is the part that makes people believe the "Smash Bros magic" comes into play and games are soon developed for series that people respond well to after being reintroduced to them through SSB. Whether or not that actually happens well....let's just say I have a friend who is still waiting for a sequel to Kid Icarus Uprising.

it isnt the first time that has happened before though. During the tsunami in 2012 (I think) they delayed certain anime for airing which featured tsunamis out of respect for the victims. There are other examples, but that is one I remember

I sorta feel like this whole leak thing has gotten to a point where its a no win scenario.
If it's real, everybody is gonna attack all the insiders for "lying" or "hiding info."
If it's fake, everybody is gonna blame Sakurai for having Incineroar and Ken as the last characters.

I feel like it's gonna turn out to be a toxic mess either way.

There are western-developed characters, though. Diddy Kong was our first European-created character, and Dark Samus was our first red-blooded (??) American! Generally, legendary third-party characters with a lot of Nintendo history are from the old guard Japanese devs who've been around since the NES days, Bayonetta being the ballot exception.

As someone who used to argue and debate about the box...Let's not. 9 times out of 10, all that happened were pointless arguments about a theory that won't be proven until we're at a point where it won't even matter anymore and no one will care who was right or wrong.

Like this leak we have now, there's nothing ironclad proving or disproving it right now. Believe what you personally wanna believe and let others do the same without givin' 'em grief.
