And hey, it's a leak, I like those, even when they are fake. This gives us something to discuss at the very least.

Very interesting. I cannot quite recall, but I believe there was a bit of an overlap during that time and I was under the impression their source was obviously from Capcom. So I cannot tell if I believe this more or less. Because, on one hand, as you stated, they got most of it correct; however, conversely, not really sure how that plays into Smash.

Indeed, it would have been so hype; however, now I sort of anticipate that it is at least somewhat likely to happen. Such a shame. That being said, there will be plenty of people shocked unless this leak goes mainstream (and even then, there are still plenty of casuals). It probably will, but you never know.

I feel kinda isolated when it comes to being hyped for ARMS representation because I honestly don’t get the hype behind the game in general. I played the Test-Punch before it released and it just felt like a shovelware slog. Even after I figured out the controls I had no desire to play it any further.

That said, I kind of like the character designs so if/when an ARMS character shows up I’ll be happy for the fans

Would anyone miss 8-Player Smash though? Not trying to crap on someone's favourite feature, but 8-Player Smash was kinda the worst and just a big old chaotic mess.

Plus, it was like 70% of what was wrong with Classic mode.

I always have a blast playing 8-player smash whenever I can, it's one of my favorite new modes along Smash Run. It's probably one of the few times that I enjoy a cluster **** in smash. But while I would prefer if it wasn't implemented in Classic mode, I'll miss it a tons.

That is why I am hyped for Spring Man, I never even played the game, I just love his design.

I'm not ready for the influx of Ridley fans should it be confirmed real. Not to say I don't want Ridley, I think Ridley should've been playable forever ago. But remembering the fall of their champion at the dawn of Smash 4... I'm not sure this place can handle the redemption of such a force...

It would make sense why Masahiro Sakurai would add him after saying he couldn't be in. After all, Sakurai was the same guy who said no Animal Crossing Rep could be in because they wouldn't fit in Brawl, only to add him in Smash 4. Also, he said he was done with Smash several times, and he is working on this game.

Nah, most of the time with leaks, other leakers, if they believe it might potentially be valid, piggy back onto more well known leakers. It is easy enough, you just claim to have a source. Most of them literally say, "my source confirms this" or whatever. If it fails, the bigger leaker usually takes the reputation hit, otherwise, it is purely beneficial. So, in the end, I doubt it makes a difference. One or one hundred leakers, it is irrelevant. Well, actually, one hundred would be pretty hard to ignore. You get my point, though.

What if the fire of the Smash Ball in the trailer is from Ridley? The reason the Inkling looked at it with such a fearful face is because it is actually coming to destroy. The lineup of silhouettes is actually there trying to fight it!

People need to stop using the Melee opening as a counterpoint....and I say this as someone who wants to see how Ridley would be handled.
It's the camera perspective.
Look at The Baby. The container is supposed to be slightly shorter than Samus herself.

I think the argument there, though, is that it makes Ridley seem more scalable than Sakurai makes him out to be. I could be wrong, but that's how I see it.

That makes sense, but it seems like there are multiple users of note coming forward with this information, not just one who inspires nameless randoms to come out of the woodwork.
Plus, you'd think those longtime users would know better than to hitch their wagon to a Ridley rumour if all they're going on is like third-hand info.

But it very well all may be meaningless, I guess we'll find out. Several reputations will take (more of) a hit if untrue.

To be fair, the camera perspective is sort of irrelevant. They could still take that size in the side by side and it would be practical. They would have to regardless. If he were ever playable. They would literally have to scale him and that is an easily recognizable comparison for what it might hypothetically look like. Beyond that, the size is apparently not even the issue. It is the damned wings, I guess.

As far as leaks go I usually only pay attention to them when they have a credible source and/or a major amount of attention like the Artsi Omni Rayman leak from years ago, however with any leak I take them with a grain of salt. So as far as the rumor of Ridley being in the game, will just have to wait and see, I know how Sakurai said he won't be playable but maybe he and his team finally found a proper compromise that would allow him to function playable in Smash Switch. And of course if this does turnout to be true... It would be one hell of a big reveal!!!

Personally I just gave up hope because it seemed that there was no way to convince Sakurai otherwise.
