Ah yes the old everyone who I disagree with is a troll mentality. Very mature, except it's really not. Unfortunately this mentality is very common in the US.

Also a character being representative of one console in the entire cycle of consoles isn't a better reason than Chief, who's games shaped the modern FPS as I said, who has appeared consistently since the release of the Xbox-in which his game was a console seller-with successful games every time and who has had an anime and a show based off of his series made and a movie in the works.

James Bond was dropped for many reasons. First, is the realistic guns issues. Second, he would not only have had to go to Eon Productions and EA to get the rights, he would also have to get the rights to Pierce Brosnan's likeness.

Cloud has appeared on a Nintendo console and that's actually the justification Sakurai used for why he's in.

Cloud is from final fantasy which has defined gaming in Japan.

Xbox doesn't sell in Japan you guys think anyone there knows who chief is lmao.

I don’t support Banjo-Kazooie because they’re some sort of legendary third party, it’s because they were once Nintendo characters and having them come home, even just for Smash, would be the perfect way to pay tribute to the 20th anniversary of their debut.

It's because it benefits neither side at all, Nintendo would have to pay absurd amounts of royalties to their DIRECT competitors and Sony/Microsoft would just be giving reason for their own fans to buy a game from their direct competitor.

Nobody's arguing Banjo would be the more logical choice. What we were arguing was Chief for some reason being "too difficult" because of his weapons when the same guy argued for Goku. Then he moved the goalpost and started talking about Banjo which was entirely irrelevant.

It does seem like an important differene that he says he "might have had misgivings" but I'm sure I'm just missing what he's saying there

I also agree with this.

Master Chief is a different case from Snake and Cloud since those are owned by 3rd party developers unlike Chief who is owned by a company that creates video game hardware.
