To be honest it's a tad upsetting that Pokken Tournament gets a port (or an announcement for one) before Smash Bros U/3DS.
With the recent leaks proven to be false I feel like there may not be any Smash Bros news at E3 unless they really want to throw us a fastball to leave us dazed in awe; however it still feels like it'd be unlikely at this point. Maybe it was super wishful thinking, but I figured they'd surprise us with some sort of announcement and mention the port will be released alongside the final Smash Amiibo. But perhaps it is still too soon for a port release, or maybe they're just waiting till the Holiday season.
Thinking on it, it would be kinda cool if they had plans for a special edition Smash Bros Switch & bundle in the works and are just holding off on it for the Holiday season. Seems unlikely, but one can dream. Perhaps I'm getting too impatient or maybe they have something much bigger than a port in the works. Maybe they're planning to port A LOT from both versions so nothing ends up cut.
I guess only time can tell.
I've survived the long wait before, after all.
I'm not so much upset by Pokken because it had a pretty likely chance of being ported over. Also, that Decidueye tho.
It just seems likely the closer we get to E3 the less likely it seems Smash will make an appearance.
Nintendo's presentation for E3 is apparently only 30 minutes long, give or take, and we know they intend to talk about releases up through 2017. Whether that's a fiscal year or not has yet to be seen. However, we know there main focus is Super Mario Odyssey. It'll probably get anywhere between 8-10 minutes of showcasing. ARMS and Splatoon 2 will be briefly talked about 2-3 minutes tops. Then we have Fire Emblem Warriors, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and 3DS games (Kirby, UltraSun and UltraMoon, etc.)
It just seems unlikely now. We may not even get any new reveals for any games. That even seems unlikely now.
If we get anything about Smash, it'll be a teaser, and then them saying "We'll reveal more about this title at a later date. So stay tuned!" , and that it's coming in 2018. I still believe it'll be a port, and it's what I am hoping for. With a port there will be no cuts. Which is always something I dread. Cloud is amazing, and I don't want to see him go due to licensing issues.
